Bush FAQ Thread

Being sick and tired of all the Bush Bashing that has been going on for the past 4 years, and likely for the next 4, I have decided to create a thread that stamps out the so called "truths" Bush haters have been putting out there.
First of all, in the last election, Bush Bashers say that the George tried to cheat in Florida. A couple little facts there:
1. The early projections did NOT say that Bush won in Florida, rather that Gore did.
2. Gore concided defeat in Florida. Since when is the other side surrendering cheating?
And for this election:
1. George Bush won the popular vote AND electoral vote. Where people are getting the idea that only 1/6 of the nation voted for Bush is beyond me, as he got over 50 percent of the popular vote.
2. Nothing here yet
If any of you Bush Bashers have any questions, please feel free to ask them so I can smash your theorys to bits.

I could deal with the rest, but I can't be bothered, and I'm sure others will quite sufficiently. However:
1. George Bush won the popular vote AND electoral vote. Where people are getting the idea that only 1/6 of the nation voted for Bush is beyond me
About 60% of Americans voted in the elections.
A little over 50% of those who voted, voted for Bush.
Hence, around 30% of Americans voted for Bush...more than 1/6, but a considerably minority!
...that's a pretty pathetic excuse for a mandate. Then again, it's better than most governments get in my native UK sadly.

This was the largest voter turnout in decades however. So, still why complain about how many voted? I see that you are right about the 30% thing, but last time I checked 100% divided by 30% doesn't equal 6....

Actually, with a population of 300 million and ~59 million votes, about 20%. More like one fifth than one sixth.

The "turnout" refers to the proportion of registered voters who "turned out" to vote.

The main reason we had the largest turnout of voters was not because of organizations and people getting people to vote. There were more first-time voters than ever before... You have to looks at the rate of increase in voters, not the population, mainly because the U.S. grows in population... ...
I'm a "Bush-basher." I used not not really get involved in politics, but after some research (Especially on Fox, but I was told later that some of their information isn't valid).... but mostly from the reactions I go from Bush voters:
"Kerry's policies are phony. Bush has created more jobs than any other president, he's better."
-His policies are very similar to Bush's on moral and economical issues. The differences aren't radical, how could someone truly choose which one has better policies? Kerry beats Bush for increasing the defecit (I don't know how much), while Bush beats Kerry for announcing his policies as a threat to the economy. What???... Both are hyprocrites...http://zfacts.com/p/531.html ....hmmm....
"Bush has a much better hold on the war. He can beat dem' terrorists."
http://www.costofwar.com/ ... interesting...I thought wars were free! :D... I think, whichever president was to be elected, should have pulled out of Iraq. And that's just this war.. look at this http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,121086,00.html...*Ick*

According to the US Census Bureau, the United States has 216 million people of voting age. According to the New York Times, about 58 million voted for Bush. That's 27%. Kerry got about 55 million votes. That's 25%. Just barely one quarter of the United States voted for Bush.

Yes, I can see how some idiots may see that point, but let us smarter people think. Who is richer than George Bush? Could it be, KERRY? And, who is even richer than Kerry? May be, HIS WIFE!

OK, here's my theory:
PREVENTING voters from voting is considered cheating, regardless of what Al Gore said. Especially when the absolute majority vote Democratically. Having your brother as the Governor for Florida, the state you need to win, is an unfair advantage.
Anyway, regardless of how he got elected, it doesn't matter. What DOES matter is that he is a fucked up President. I mean, when the below average person gets a tax cut of $100 per year, and the rich get a tax cut of $38,000 a year, when you invade a country for "terroism" issues to find that there is no link between them and Osama Bin Laden, when you lie to invade that country, when you refuse to ask WHY September 11 happened in the first place and to prevent it you cause more anguish and anger, when you plunge your country into a trillion-dollar deficit by going to the moon pointlessly, etc etc etc.......
You've fucked up your country. Congratulations.

Here are some FAQs you might answer?
1. Where are the WMD's.
2. In April 2003, Tommy Franks said that by Sept. 2003, there would be 30,000 troops in Iraq. Why are there 138,000 troops there now?
3. Why hasn't the CIA released the report on 9/11 that it finished in June?
4. How has Iraq become safer, when there is a sharp rise in militant, fundamentalist activity?
5. Why has the IRS audit rate for the working class poor increased during the Bush Administration, while the audit rate at the corporate level decreased.
6. Why has Bush all but ignored EPA suggestions for water purity, air pollution, and other contaminants?
7. Why did Bush say that there are "nearly 100,000 fully trained and equipped Iraqi soldiers, police officers, and other security personnel are working today" when only 53,000 have received any training, and of those only 8000 have recieved the whole 8 week course?

First of all, the finds that their was no connection between Iraq and Osama is simplysomething that could not be expected. Kerry would have done the same thing. Faulty intelligence is not a reason to bash someones judjment. If you were President, and you received a report that you suspected to be true, would you use it as a basis to go to war? Of course you would. As for the tax cuts, if you had 15 dollars, and the guy next to you had 5, you would recieve the same percentage as a tax cut, but not the same amount. Obviously, if you disagree with this you hate money.

Yeah, I mean, how were we meant to know that a fundementalist Muslim and a secularist didn't have links.
