What bothers me about this whole thing

What bothers me about this whole thing is when a user on this site expresses legit concerns in a non-hostile and intelligent manner, the pro-Bush people on this site proceed to trash them, calling them morons and saying they need to leave the country because they're being anti-American. Now I agree some of the pro-Kerry people are going abit too far with all this, but you pro-Bush people need to chill out. Do not flame somebody because they are exercising their 1st Amendment rights, you wouldn't like it if it happened to you, would you?

I have my own concerns about the future, and I should be able to express them in a civil manner without being labeled an anti-American and an unstable psychotic liberal. Alot of users on this site are reasonable people, and if we want to discuss our feelings you need to respect that REAGRDLESS of your political agenda. It's basic human civility for crying out loud.

And if you have nothing nice or constructive to say, then refrain from posting.

You are correct of course, but then it is in the very nature of the right wing to stifle debate. It is ironic indeed how those most vocal about the blood spilled in the fight for freedom of expression, are also those most vocal in their opposition to people's actual use of it. I have not yet found an adequate understanding of this duality, but perhaps the extent of entitlement of freedom of expression is variable across society in their view? That is, freedom of expression is sacred, but people's entitlement to it varies according to certain criteria. These can of course be the subject of much cynical debate.

I'm a right winger, and I would have voted for Bush If I was in America right now, but I agree with AMF. It's just silly and childish to attack anyone because of their personal opinion/belief because you don't happen to agree with this.

Live and let live.

I do concur, AMF. You raise some very good points.

After all, you're more of a patriot when you know what is happening politically in your country and question it rather than blindly follow and remain ignorant.

I agree with all 3 of you.
