Who else here is glad Alan Keyes wasn't elected to the United States Senate?

This man was beyond right wing, he was nuts! Besides with a candidate like Barack Obama, why would you vote for Keyes? I guess Jesus didn't show up to vote for Keyes like he expected! This was one of the few bright spots for the Democrats in the Senate races, given Tom Daschle lost in South Dakota.

While I understand your frustration, and I am glad Obama won, I can't understand why you must attack christians.

I am a Christian but saying Jesus will vote for you is absurd. Jesus could careless what happens in the Senate races.

No one, including Keyes thought he was going to win. He only decided to run in order to get airtime for his views.

Instead of Alan Keyes, we get Jim DeMint and Tom Coburn. They're just as bad. Coburn thinks there's an epidemic of lesbianism in high schools, such that he was told that they only allow one girl in the bathrooms at a time. DeMint would not allow gays to teach in public schools (or unwed mothers for that matter).

Obama is a small victory in the face of overwhelming Christian authoritarianism. We're fucked, really bad.

Seeing Keyes lose something was the one silver lining for me.

Maybe now he'll get raped by a gay hedehog. On live TV.
