The conservatives are gloating overmuch in another thread, so I thought I'd create my own. Just to be equitable.
Even though President Bush's lie and smear campaign was successful and the American people have approved a bully and a jackass, there is a silver lining for Democrats.
We have completely lost control. The G.O.P. has methodically destroyed us on the national, state, and local levels. The right-wing lunatics will stack the federal judiciary even more heavily in their favor.
But since it's the GOP in control, THEY are responsible for what happens. And when this country goes to hell because of George W. Bush's policy decisions, it will be Republicans who shoulder the blame.
I only hope there's an America left to rescue by the time that the anti-gay, anti-world bigots lose control of it.
