Stephistan/Myrth, the Mod party with 27 votes! Congratulations!
However, I did not mention the runner up-prize. second place will run NS Congress.
The winner of that is Kanabia, with 21 Votes!
Kanabia, being in charge of congress, you will speak for the people of Nationstates!
Use this thread to celebrate, party, and demand a recount.
A special thanks to all those who took part in this wonderful election.
EDIT: Due to negotiations with candidates over a vice president issue, a Re-election will be held tomorrow morning. the link will be posted on this thread when ready.

For a while the vote was very close between the mods and Kanabia. But the mods steamed ahead overnight...
Well, i'm afraid according to our rights under the *cough indiscernable mumble*, myself and Soviet Democracy are forming a coalition. As I didn't have a running mate, i believe therefore that SD has the right to merge with me and we combine our votes.
The Common Sense/Democratic Libertarian Communist party claims 30 votes :D
It was, after all, a double ticket for the mod party.

**HAHA clicked wrong button, posted in wrong thread. excuse me :)**
Bah, I am more than a little dissapointed that there was not a wider margin for Kerry. Kerry may not be the best choice, but Bush believes he hears the voice of God for pete's sake. The voices in my head are telling me to be president in 2008.
As far as what he will do with his 4 years... more of the same, being controlled by his corporate leash holders.
He may be good for the people willing to sell their souls, but leave me out of it.
My prediction still stands that by 2012 we (the US) will befall the same fate that came to USSR.
All I can to say is "Viva La Revolution!"

First of all, add it to your signiture. Second, your job is to contest any of the President/Vice Presidents views if you find them unjust or unlawful.
third, enjoy the party! :D

I contest the previous vote and ask for a revote. My reasoning is as followed...
The election was unfair, initially. There was no nomination of Vice Presidents. That should of been something that was organized by the leader of the election, Imperial Navy. The vote was premature. There was no true debate, there was only a campaign thread. I saw no debate thread whatsoever. This election, in my opinion, is not valid. Every party should of had their platform given in the voting thread so people could see what they were voting for. And yes, I did mention this previously in either a thread or a direct telegram to you.
I contest the vote.
Soviet Democracy

I hereby refuse to recognise the election as valid.
Why? You must give a valid reason in order for your voice to be heard. Well, you have not given a valid reason this whole campaign, so why do it now?
Who needs a stupid President anyway... ooh... the Americans... but no one else. I guess.
So you were running so there would be no President?
Might I ask where you were during the first and second revolutions in the General Forum against the General Forum Royalty? If I remember correctly, I was a high ranking officer in the first one. The second one I organized. I have a proven record of defending the people. Where is yours?
The Imperial Navy
03-11-2004, 15:32
You did NOT bring this up earlier. This vote was fair-the result would have been the same anyway. request denied.
Soviet Democracy
03-11-2004, 15:37
I did mention it specifically that there should be the platform put next to the candidates name. If I remember correctly, I believe I said that it should be in the campaign thread, not the voting one. I also stated it in the campaign thread. I will go back to verify and quote it here. A lack of knowledge of the candidates and a lack of VPs causes this election to be invalid. I thought this would happen, but next thing I knew there was an election thread.
Soviet Democracy
03-11-2004, 15:38
Edit: I am now running for President.
Secondly, maybe you could put the political platform in your first post so everyone can see it when they first join? And edit it as the candidate sees fit.
And to Legless. Even so, not everyone has your tolerance level. I personally am annoyed by people who do nothing but flame and think their arguements are valid. They are annoying, because they consistantly flame. Those people should be warned and there be a set of firm rules (not extremely strict, more relaxed than strict) that would control things that like that deter people from coming to the forums. It makes the forums a lot more enjoyable of a place, rather than having to sift through spam and flames or simply ignoring it.
Check it. First page of the campaign thread (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=366904).

I do not believe that would be the best way. I believe there should be a Vice President Nomination Thread. I would like a re-vote. I am not asking to be named the winner as the running mate of Kanabia, I am asking for a re-vote. A announcement of a winner without a new vote would not be fair either.
The Imperial Navy
03-11-2004, 15:48

Oh, alright. I'll hold a new vote starting tommorrow morning... and you wish to run alongside Kanabia?
Before we jump into another vote, you should probably telegram every candidate to see if they are alright with their ticket (whether they want a VP or not) and notify them of the situation. Others should be able to contest a new vote, that would only be fair.
The Imperial Navy
03-11-2004, 15:51
I'll allow people to choose a vice president overnight... but I fthey don't reply before morning, I guess I will have to go ahead with the new vote.
