People love to be stupid and people love to be slaves, that is my view on the world, people hate freedom more then everything and every chance they get to be less free, they will take it.

It seems that the more people there are in the world the stupider the world gets. I think this stupidity is really a *systematic ignorance, and it might be possible to improve things.

This reminds me of a story. The Board of Selectmen in my town wants to prohibit anyone having firearms on all town property, including police officers. I was talking to my mom about it, about how absurd it is, and I said I was going to overthrow the town government and establish a dictatorship. She asked me how I would manage that. I said I'd get alot of guns and some supporters and then go and tell them I was now the ruler of the town. She asked me why I thought they would just let me become the ruler of the town. I said, "Because I'll have guns, and they won't."

I believe systematic means part by part, whereas systemic may indeed be the word you meant.

Well I'm glad you've joined me and many others in the realisation that people are stupid. I mean when Howard gets back in and Bush gets back in and neither rigged it (or so it hasn't been proven so far) then we can accuratley presume that about 40% of Australians are stupid and 100% of Republican voters are stupid. Then the following countries are also filled with stupid people: Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Colombia, Chzech Republic, Denmark, El Salvador, Eritrea, Estonia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Hungary, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, NEtherlands, Nicaragua, Phillipines and Palau.

I remember that feeling, too. Once you go beyond the "AMERCANS R TEH ST00P1D!!!11!11" dictum and realize that stupidity, unlike stupid people themselves, has no borders, the world never looks the same.

To add, the best bits of advice I ever got
1) there is always someone who can do it better/faster/for longer, you may never meet them, but there is.
2) appearance is what people want, not results
3) never become a fanatic in any walk of life, you will get warped trying to walk in such a straight line
4) Be happy, things can always get worse
