Democrats expressing a certain degree of annoyance and regret

This is pissing me off.

Some of you people are accusing everyone who supports a candidate other than the one you support of being stupid. One even went so far as to associate them with mental illness (which, having mentally retarded family, I take great personal offense to).

I was on your side this election. I spent the better part of the last few weeks trying to help the Kerry campaign any way I could. But Bush has pretty much won, and he's won fairly.

I think you need to stop your complaining and gracefully accept defeat instead of pouting. You're making yourself and your party look pathetic. Save some face and just be quiet.

(By the way--if you are a Democrat that has not been whiny about this, I am not addressing you. We put up a good fight. Both sides deserve equal congratulation.)

I expect wuite of few insults, attacks on my family, insults about my intelligence, but I don't care.

It's times like these I truly am ashamed to ally myself with Democrats, and the left in general... you tell someone you're a liberal, or a Democrat, or even left-leaning moderate or independant, and they automatically assume a certain stereotype for you; the annoying, bitchy, uninformed pink-o commie. The same holds true for the right--people tend to form stereotypes. There's so much talk in the country today about polarization. I don't think this is as realistic as the media makes it seem. I think it's mostly people seeing the country as being polarized, black and white, right and left, when really the veins run much wider and deeper than that.

The small chance of Kerry taking Ohio after the provisional ballots have been counted is still better than the zero chance he'll have of taking Ohio if he concedes. Some people waited in line for 8 1/2 hours after the polls closed in Ohio and the Republican secretary of state already said that all of the valid ballots will be counted. I think you need to stop your complaining and gracefully accept a late result instead of pouting.

This thread can stay open, but I had to briefly lock it to give it a title topic change, so it wouldn't attract flames from those who don't bother reading the whole post.

I think the vocal minority of whiney democrats that call opponents names and are poor losers give a bad name to all democrats.

I'm all for making sure the electoral process is carried out fairly and completely, however, no further. I don't want another 2000. If it does, in fact, turn out that Kerry wins Ohio fairly, I'd expect a graceful defeat from the Republicans as well.

A whiny democrat? I'm already placing bets on when Kerry will concede. So no worries from me.

Let's be fair, though. Democrats aren't predisposed to be whinier than republicans. It's just that when an opposing party is in power, they'll have more to whine about than if there party is in power.
Also, this forum, and places that many of its members live, such as college campuses, are mostly liberal. If there's a higher number of democrats in an area, there will logically be more democratic whiners, too.

So, for these two reasons, the democrats come off as whinier than republicans.

USA: Just about the only democratic country where civil rights are failing instead of succeeding. Scares the H*** out of me that people can be so damn "conservative" (read: primitive).

Did I ever say that???
No, nobody said you did. He was proving a point, saying that Republicans are as bad as Democrats when it comes to "whining".

I'm not too fussed... I already knew that bush would win, and both bush and kerry are equally useless... it's easy to see.

well, 4 more years of a useless dictator, comming up. (I would have said the same if Kerry won... Mwahahahaha! :D )

The question is... who will Bush invade next? the UK for not giving them Abu Hamza? Lol. :D

If you ask me, I think Bush will get confused and re-invade Guam.

Iran or North Korea.

Although I have a feeling it'll end up being UN-sanctioned if we go after Iran or North Korea, especially if the DPRK shows signs of turning Seoul into a radioactive parking lot.

That's true, not that a UN sanction will make any difference to Bush in any case... However, it would be better for our reputation if any military operation we engage in from here-on-out was UN sanctioned, or at least mildly approved of by the rest of the world.

That brings another issue. Recently, the UN has been voting against US-led resolutions, simply, it seems, because they are US led. I believe the statistic is, the other nations vote against us 87% of the time, correct me if I'm wrong. So the question is: will the US's desire to go into Iran or North Korea (even if to ensure nuclear stability) encourage UN and international distaste for the idea, putting the world at further risk?
