We finally turned off the TV - I'm so stressed out by this I feel sick. I'm also damn close to tears. If Ohio goes to Bush I don't even know if I'll be able to go to school tomorrow.

You have to, or the No Child Left Behind act will get you.

I feel your pain, believe me.

Win or lose, we have to hold our heads high. One presidential defeat does not mean the end of the world. Our party is still strong. We have to pull together now, try to do our best with the people we managed to get into Congress, and prepare for 2008.

In this case?
Yes it does!

One presidential defeat isn't the end of the world. Two elections lost to Bush is. Ohio is our last chance.

On the upside, I get to vote next election.

Don't worry. I don't like Bush, but he will implement changes in 2005. That's just what reelected presidents do. 2005 will not be another 2004/3/2. It's not going to be as bad as it looks from a Democratic perspective. The main thing here is for all sides to be less partisan so the vicious campaign doesn't create a permanent rift in America.

Or you could start a civil war if it bugs you that bad.

I think the Kerry states should seperate and form their own, new America. Maybe Alberta would even join such an endevour. ;)

And Quebec, because they're French Canadian.

Of course I'm joking.

Don't tell me you guys were surprised?!

American stupidity goes far beyond anything we intellectuals can fathom. This is the best couse of action anyways. Stupid people only learn from making mistakes. (again and again and again).

And frankly I've grown to stop caring about stupid poor people who are too busy being fundamentalist Christians to care for their own well being.

The environment will take care of itself... in a millenium or so.

The economy... wouldn't survive anyways, as there will always be a lousy and greedy President in the future to foil any noble attempts by either party.

Civil rights are improving, and while people wonder about abortion and homosexuality, it was only a century ago when they wondered about women and blacks.

Shit health care, once again, is what poor people get for voting for Bush.

Then again, I'm an existential nihilist... The most beneficial thing for the world at large is for the middle of the US to be nuked by multiple angry Arab factions... which is surely what the current foreign policy has in store for us.

So everything seems A-OK!

You are right, but thinking about my life, even if I do not live in the US, this makes a lot of difference.
Bush and his "ALCA" will probably destroy the little economy that´s left in my country and if the water problem gets worse (wich I believe will not) we will be invaded for sure.

I'm not even a Democrat. I'm independent. John Kerry is a good candidate, but frankly he could be a chihuahua as terrified as I am of Bush. Ohio is Kerry's last chance to win, but if Bush takes it and then Kerry wins all the other uncalled states, we have a 269-269 tie. That leaves us with two last saving graces. The first is that everyone says the Senate will elect Edwards for VP, and Bush is less dangerous minus Cheney. The second I don't expect to happen because I don't trust the House not to be a load of stubborn imbeciles, but here it is: House Democrats could endorse a more moderate Republican for president, drawing enough Republicans over that Bush doesn't win. My mom pointed this out to me and said they'd most likely support John McCain. He's actually pretty decent. I hope Ohio goes to the Democrats, but I wouldn't mind McCain for president at all. A Bush-Edwards administration would be really weird, but it would still be better than a straight Republican victory.

Wow, it's 11:30 on a school night and I'm still wide awake. And have you noticed that 90% of the threads on the front page are about the election? For once I don't mind...

ROFLMFAO

You left wingers are SOOOOOOOOOOOO Predictable. I always thought that the American left was more mature than the Australian left... but if the members of the nationstates forum are anything to go by then that is deffinatly *not* the case. Your all acting exactly the same way the Aussie Left wingers did in October when Labor got its ass handed to it. I bet within a few hours you will all be saying how you will leave the country before bush "destroys" it more. Then you'll accuse the american public of being stupid... whoops you've already started doing that *sigh* Oh well, I guess that you *intellectuals* will eventually grasp the idea that insulting the electorate won't gain you any popularity.

No doubt this will only get me flammed, abused, and who know's what else? Anyway if that does happen it only goes to prove my point further the Left are always nice & rationale untill you query or question some of their policies/ideas. (And yes, there are some right wingers who are just as guilty of this).

If that's the case, then it's probably worth repeating that 1) That's a satire site, and 2) the draft was proposed by democrats.

In that case, let's hope the republicans win.

I voted for Kerry, and frankly I do NOT want Bush for president again, but I am willing to say, wait for the military and provisional votes, that will be 11 or 12 days. After that, if Kerry is still behind, we lost. I'm not going to call for, or endorse any lawsuits or other actions beyond counting the votes. We DO need to count them, but that's it.

If the Democratic party wants to start reforming itself and getting ready for 2008, we need to do so by showing that we're not going to drag the country through 2000 again.

ok, with 99% of the precints in, Ohio is going to Bush by a 164,315. Even though I still say, yes, the military and provisional ballots need to be counted, Kerry is not going to surmount that. not without major litigation, or fraud on the Democratic part, of finding it on the Republican part. The election is over.

Shrub has become President Bush. I never really felt he was elected the first time, this time. He won.
