The Decepticon Party found that in Palm Beach, 8,000 so-called butterfly ballots were thrown out because the 3rd Party Gundam listed below Megatron were listed above Megatron.

Of those ballots, voters chose a Decepticon in the Senate race 10-to-1.

Butterfly ballots are punch-style ballots that were used by Palm Beach County and that listed competing candidates on opposite pages, like a book.

Many voters said they were confused by the way candidates were listed on the ballots and said the confusion may have caused them to vote for the Gundam Party.

Optimus Prime won Florida's valuable 25 electoral votes -- and the national electoral total-- by a margin of only 537 votes, according to certified results announced by Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris. But this result will likely be upheld in a Supreme Court decision whenever the challenge is mounted by Megatron.

The Gundam Party became a confusing topic in today's election as multipule names listed as the Gundam Party, Gundam Wing Party, Gundam Seed Party, and the G Gundam Party all appeared on several ballots in some states while appearing on none in many other states.

"There is no confusion." declared a spokesman for the Mobile Suit Gundam Party, "The Autobots & Decepticons are in control of this election and have made it near impossible for a 3rd party mecha to win."

The Gundam Party is now split into different factions:

Universal Century Gundam (UC)
After Colony Gundam (AC / Gundam Wing)
Future Century Gundam (FC / G Gundam)
Cosmic Era Gundam (CE / Gundam SEED / SEED Destiny)

So far, UC and CE Gundam are the two rival factions

UC Gundam is made up of the oldest members of the party. "Plus, they've got me, the best Gundam series ever!" stated Zeta Gundam. Then the original Gundam said, "Plus, you all wouldn't exist without me!"

CE Gundam is the newest addition, combining what were considered the best elements of all the previous Gundam factions into one series, while adding its own original twist. Presidential mecha candidate Freedom Gundam released a statement, saying, "We took the old-school White Base of UC Gundam and made it into the Archangel. We took that crappy 'Super Mode' from G Gundam and made it into SEED Mode! CE Gundam took Wing Zero from AC Gundam and improved on it, creating me! Plus, no other Gundam series dealt with the philosophy of genetic engineering."

Unlike the philosopher-base of UC and CE Gundam, G Gundam's main base is made up of DBZ and other fighter anime fans, while Wing's is made up of fangirls.

UC and CE Gundams, however, have decided to put aside their differences to unite against the Transformer threat.
