Presidential Race
There's a big question that we'd like to ask you.
Who would YOU like to see in the White House?
(For the idiots out there... THIS IS NOT A POLLING STATION)
George W. Bush/Richard Cheney Republican
John F. Kerry/John Edwards Democratic
David Cobb/Pat La Marche Green
Leonard Peltier/Janice Jordan Peace and Freedom
Michael Badnarik/Richard Campagna Libertarian
Michael Anthony Peroutka/Chuck Baldwin Libertarian
Ralph Nader/Peter Miguel Camejo Reform
Please keep in mind that Nader didn't seem to be on the ballot...

that was a responsible thing to do. If you wanna get Bush out of office voting for Nader is not the way to do it.

Badnarik. I disagree with most of the Libertarian economic policy, but I figure they wouldn't be able to force any radical legislation through Congress, and it'd be nice to see someone break the political duopoly the Dems and Reps have.

Badnarik seems to have a very big following on most techy sites, too - the users of Slashdot.org have more than a few Badnarik supporters among their ranks.
I think it's a geek-solidarity thing, as Badnarik used to be a computer programmer. Slashdot is one of the biggest sites on the net, I only wish they and NS were a fair reflection of the rest of the US's opinion - that'd make for a close Kerry/Badnarik race.

I think people on NS are more interested in politics than the average joe; a lot of people don't even know who he is. However, he has a pretty strong following at my uni...we have a very active libertarian party. And it doesn't hurt that two (three before I left) of the regular columnists for the school paper are libbys.

They're those crazy scary people you may have seen from time to time called "third parties". They're unacceptable as candidates because their ideas often dont fit into a nicely labeled boxes.

Likewise. No sense in throwing away a perfectly useful vote.
You don't get to see anything of those people here in the Netherlands, except a tiny bit of Nader...
Badnarik. Alot of his ideas are a little extreme, but I strongly feel that the government needs to get out of the charity business.
I thought Peroutka was Constitution Party?
Yeah, but the ballot said Independant.... =/
