Laugh all you want, Dave Mustaine's speed alone can put any guitarist out there, save for Marty Friedman, Jason Becker, and Kerry King, to shame. He's also very good with a guitar BEYOND the fact that he's fast, so Angus Young is probably not as good as Dave.
Think about it this way: Dave was once the lead guitarist for Metallica, and a favourite of many fans of the band before he was kicked out. When he began MEgadeth and started touring, there's a particular incident to highlight where, after a concert, the crowd began chanting 'KIRK HAMMET SUCKS! DAVE MUSTAINE RULES!'. You can't tell me Kirk Hammet is bad as well, and for much of the San Francisco scene, the former biggest metal scene on the planet, to say Dave was better than Kirk... Well, that's gotta mean somethin.

But seriously, Jimmy Page is easily the best guitarist in the world, closely followed by Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck.

Arghh, I hate choosing between these two.
I love the style of Van Halen, but the rythm of Young.
Overall, I am going to have to go with Eddie, simply because of his technical skill, and just the way he plays.
