Mocking it is one thing. Suffering the original is something else. And while I'm at it any song that is played at weddings and involves "actions." They all suck too.

OK, you said I'm limited to one of your choices, so I went with "Mr Roboto" because of all of the artists listed it was saddest to see Styx (a fine power pop band) lower itself to that crap.

I must put in a plug for "You Light Up My Life" by Debby Boone and "96 Tears" by ? and the Mysterians. Both those wretched hits deserve their rightful place amidst any Worst Song of All Time list. :mp5:

Hmm...I thought about it, but Korn are worse (though IMHO Korn's first two albums were good) Slipknot did some OK songs, like Eyeless and Iowa. To me, they're unspectacular more than downright bad.

You have a pretty good list apart from the ones below which instead of you could have picked many worse songs than these and I'm a snob of Rock and Roll:

Mmmbop: Pop, it is true but it was actually quite a fun tune and so I have nothing against it.

Dancing Queen: I am not going to apologise for saying that this is one of the top 10 songs in music history. No doubt about it. It's one of the few songs guaranteed to get everyone on to the dancefloor so I think you are being very unfair.

Styx: They have made some crap songs but I like their work as a whole.

Good Charlotte: Not the worst song ever as it didn't require no skill to create unlike Mr Blobby etc but it is certainly one of the most annoying songs. After about the 2nd time of hearing it I just felt very sick.

Lucky: Kylie sucks generally and this is certainly a very annoying sing. Still, as she's hot I'll forgive her. My vote's gone to MC Hammer the nark!

Can't blame them for that. They were around in like 1996, when Take That and East 17 were already flouting their crap and had been for a while. Boy Bands suck but Hanson were not the first.

I remember that hateful hateful summer of mmbop. At the time my two little sisters were obsessed with the moron brothers. As such, they played the song 24/7. Now me being the eldest child, and a male to top it off, was driven nuts by this highly juvenile moron song. The reason I vote for mmbop is because it is the only song on the list that has hurt me in any physical way (they all have emotional issues, but physical pain is beyond that threshhold).

I doubt any of the options in the poll are the worst song ever. I don't know what my least favourite is, but songs by S-Club make me naucious.
