Dems only: Kerry a STRONG Candidate?

I understand many people support Kerry, but it seems some people only support Kerry because he isn't Bush. I personally think that Kerry is a strong candidate, and not just not-Bush. Please resond with your thoughts. If you are curious about where Kerry stands on issues, go to www.johnkerry.com

Kerry is alright. I would have preferred Dean, but we work with what we got.

Dean or Clark would have been much better, but I am growing to like Kerry more every time I hear from him.

Exactly my sentiments.

Edit - How cool would it be (assuming Kerry gets elected - we'll see what happend tomorrow) if Kerry chooses Clark to be his Sec. of Defense, and Dean Sec. of.....um....Health or something - I know there's a position like that somewhere. Surgeon General maybe? :D

Out of the candidates that the Democrats managed to scrape together during the primaries, I liked Kerry the best. But I'm not particularly fond of him, and it took a whole lot of self-convincing to vote for him over Bush.

I have been supporting John Kerry ever since Howard Dean called the CA recall election a vast right wing conspiracy.

After reading Kerry's campaign platform, listening to his speeches, and noticing his consistency on the issues (despite what George W Bush, Dick Cheney, Ann Coulter, and Sean Hannity would have us believe), I fully supported John Kerry. My desire to see Bush lose became a mild fleeting thought compared to my desire to see Kerry win. Whether it be the huge spending cuts, the increase in army size, the improvement in security at currently soft targets, the health care subsidies, or one of his less urgent goals, all I can focus on are the probable effects of a John Kerry victory. Any other outcome is not something for me to waste time thinking about.

edit: I noticed after I posted this that only Democrats were supposed to reply. I'm officially nonpartisan and unofficially a Libertarian but I'm voting for more Democrats than Republicans in this particular election so I'll count that as close enough

I'm a supporter of the Libertarians, personally, but I was getting to like Howard Dean more and more and probably would be rooting for the Democrats in this election not just because they're the only not-Bush party that stands a chance had he been running on their ticket.

With Dean as Democrat candidate, I would probably be rooting for Democrats on their own merits. With Kerry as candidate, I'm rooting for them just because I want rid of Bush. Sad, but that's the way it is. I don't trust Kerry as a decision-maker and I won't trust him as a President, but it will still be a damn sight more than I have ever trusted George W. Bush - that said, however, I have a horrible feeling Bush is going to win this election, so how I feel about Kerry as a President is largely academic.

here here. America is doomed to have weak leaders apparently... though I think Kerry is much stronger than bush that it'll be LIKE he's a strong leader. If bush wins :sniper: :sniper: :sniper: :sniper: :sniper: :sniper:

I see kerry as a strong leader. I dont like the american system, nor any of the canidates, but kerry is one of the best of the bunch.

Too bad america is filled with "omg gay sex sinner" people and "omg leave UN nuke EU" people, who don't really understand anything.

Mr Kerry strong? NOPE
Is he weak? YES
Will he survive, IF and ONLY if he's elected, he will need a lot of support from his cabinet. So expect to see strong leaders where he is incapable of performing. In other words the entire cabinet will be made from the strong politicans that will allow themselves to serve on his cabinet.
Edwards, when the election is done and over with, what's he gonna do? Go back to being a multi-million dollar ambulance chaser? Sheez, he can't even win his own state, or get re-elected to the Senate from his own state. Good choice there Mr Kerry, he's in it all for you!

Eh, I liked good ol' Sharpton much better. He's the one I was rooting for, but like I suspected, was far to left leaning for this year's election.

To be honest, I think quite a few people would be better then Kerry, and I would vote for them, but this election's too close for my tastes.
