I've realised there seems to be alot of threads about political economies and stuff concerning fascism, lefties righties etc. etc.

So here's a test I found. Although none are perfectly accurate, but it does give a good thereabouts measure of where you stand, being right winged, left winged, authoritarian or just anarchist.

The test is fully anonymous and you don't need to register or some rubbish like that. Just take 5 minutes of your time.

I did this a while back, I got about -7 Libertarian and -3 Economic Left

So here's a test I found.

Do a search in the General forum, and you will see that this gets posted every couple of weeks. There is a thread which contains a large amount of results (and a graph), which IIRC, Free Soviets put together, and it presents a good reflection of the political spread here.

I changed a few responses and got a different score.

Pragmatic

Economic Left/Right: 4.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.51


I put wrong answers to many of the questions in order to get closer to where my views would actually fall on the political scale. Damn the "personality=politics" and "capitalism=corporations" bias in that test. I still didn't make it.

Idealistic

Economic Left/Right: 10.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.74

No it doesn't. Have you actually read that test? It makes some basic unfair assumptions that skew the results significantly.

Ah yes, I too have problems with the test itself, but Free Soviet's collation of results does give a reflection of the political spread here, and it was that rather than the test itself to which I was refering.

Thus, for all the flaws inherent in the phrasing of the questuions and their hidden assumptions, Free Soviet's graph still displays and interesting snapshot of the divergence of politcal opinions here:

I can't be bothered to take this again, but I was -10 on the economic scale, and something like -6 on the social one.

the questions are biased by the maker of the site in order to show people's views in truth without being subtle, and although it is posted again and again this is the first time i have come across it properly. So i'm kinda glad its here, even if its annoying the hell out of people who have done it before. Let me have my only fun in life. Please?
