Just a simple thread, who is voting for the first time this year? I am! Just turned 18, and I sent in my absentee ballot the other day, so I have officially voted!
Feel free to debate if you feel the need, however BE RESPECTFUL or I will smite you with the fire of a thousand suns.

I would have, but the damn state of Pennsylvania never sent me an absentee ballot. And there is no way I can get to my district to vote.

I'll be able to vote in four years... :(

I'll be voting at an actual real polling place (rather than by absentee ballot), despite going to college in a different state than where I lived before.
I figure I spend more of the year here, and it has more interesting politics anyhow, so there's no reason not to register here.

I'm voting for president for the first time.. second time overall, if you count the CA Recall election.

Should be good times. :)

I'll have to wait till the next presidential election. (sobs!)
But actually I wish I could vote this year because I really got into it. It's all really exciting... And it's important.

Well I've been 18 for a while, almost two years, but this was my first time voting. I was extremely excited when I got my absentee ballot in the mail, but by the time I figured out what all it meant and what I wanted, my enthusiasm dimmed a bit. It's no longer a mystery to me why people don't vote. S'a pain.

I would have, but the damn state of Pennsylvania never sent me an absentee ballot. And there is no way I can get to my district to vote. You probably have a good case to sue them for disenfranchisment, or something. It's probably not worth it, but you might look into it.

But actually I wish I could vote this year because I really got into it. It's all really exciting... And it's important.I was way into it in 2000, and couldn't vote. (But that's all for the best; I would have been a docile little child and voted Bush as my parents did.) Still, I was involved in politics clubs and went to Washington in April '01, so getting involved is not a lost cause even if you're too young to vote.

First time voting for president, though I am an experienced voter, having even voted in the Democratic primaries...(for Dennis Kucinich, but hell, I voted...)

I missed the age by about a month dammit. Not like it matters, Bush doesn't need another vote in South Carolina. He's got it all wrapped up.

Unfortunately, I cannot register to vote until April 9, 2008.

I'll damn well tell everyone else how to vote until then, though.
