Green Bay is destroying Washington!

One of the crazy election predictors:

http://www.snopes.com/sports/football/election.asp

If the Redskins lose today, supposedly so will Bush.

The Packers are currently up 20-7 with 11 minutes left to play.

GO KERRY!

Oh well. There goes four years of Washington down the drain. On the bright side, however, at least Hillary Clinton won't be running for president in 2008.

Yep ... flushing that turd right out of the White House.

I like this prediction even though I hate the Packers. I can live this one time. Kerry! Kerry!

w00t!!!! It's official. Kerry is taller than Bush, and my Pack beat the skins. There is no way Bush could win now.

Well, I like the Packers, and Bush... it's lose-lose for me.

But honestly, I think its BS. Especially since its only been like 3 times that the incumbent has lost in an election. I think the Skins have not won that many games.

well it's only been three times that the taller candidate has lost. Two times, the taller was bald. Once, in the last election, the supreme court decided the winner.

(since the wide acceptance of the television.)

The Redskins thing has been a solid, 100% accurate indicator since 1932:

In 1932 the Washington Redskins were neither the Redskins nor a Washington team: they were the Boston Braves, and they played in Braves Field, which they shared with the National League baseball team of the same name. On 6 November 1932 they won at home against the Staten Island Stapletons, 19-6, a result that should have foretold a presidential victory for the incumbent Republican party. Neither the Redskins' team name nor their predictive powers were yet evident, however, as President Herbert Hoover lost to his Democratic challenger, Governor Franklin Delano Roosevelt of New York on 8 November 1932.

Ummm...are you aware that this predictor has been correct 15 times in a row? It was even right when the Redskins were in Boston (though it was wrong when they still called themselves the Braves.) Call it a coincidence; I will take any good news I can get.

With 1:55 left to play, the score is now 20-14 Redskins.

The Redskins can still win, but it's unlikely.

Scratch that .... 1:44 left to play, Packers up 28-14 ...

Redskins need 2 touchdowns in the next 1:30 to tie the game. They have 1 timeout left.

Have you been aware that the Red Sox haven't won a World Series in 84 years? The curse must exist. Wait a minute...

the skins would need a td and an onside kick, in addition to a miracle to allow them to win. Although I can't find the game right now, as I am visiting my sister out of state, I am sure it is already too late for the skins.

Boston had to perform a bizarre fluke to win the World Series - coming back from down 3-0 and then beat the best team in baseball, the St. Louis Cardinals (hey, the standings said it, not me.) This means that Bush will have to do something else unprecedented now in order to win.

EDIT: By the way, it was 86 years, numbnuts.

Well, I like the Packers, and Bush... it's lose-lose for me.Heh, same here, only the other way around. I like the 'skins and Kerry... I would have rooted for the Redskins to win but I suppose I am a little bit superstitious after all; I rooted against them yesterday.

My tortoise has predicted the president since 1944, he's been correct each time. He picked Bush, so it appears that all of our voodoo logic could be just a coincidence.

Being a Bears fan, I detest the Packers, but considering history and the fact that I hate Dubya just as much, I suppose I can live with them winning this game. Just lose the rest, especially the one on January 2nd.

So how does it predict the president?

Bush sold more Halloween masks this year, though, and he's already beaten one man who was taller than him.

Seriously, I bought him from a zoo. He will live to be well over 100, he is now 80. The zoo where he lived until 2002 would place the name of each candidate on the ground in it's area. Eventually, Mr Speedy would come to rest on the candidate. I took speedy back to the zoo this weekend, and he did his usual thing. He laid there for 10 min, got up, and waddled over to the Bush spot and came to rest there. He has been correct 100% of the time.

Yeah, so people could make fun of him. You don't think they wanted to wear a mask of him to flatter him?

*Groan* about the result (I'm a DIEHARD Redskins fan), but if the prediction thing comes true again, I'll be a lot less upset about the game.

Bush sold more Halloween masks this year, though, and he's already beaten one man who was taller than him. If he wins, he goes against history. No President who won the election despite losing the popular vote has been elected to a second term.

GO KERRY!
