Three Headlines Right out of Wednesday Morning!

#1
As we wake up this morning we can say with certainty that we have re-elected George W. Bush to the Presidency of the US. It has been a long and bitter campaign, with nail-biting moments, fluctuating polls, vocal celebs and all sorts of other fun things. We can go forward in confidence with this President, he has passed the referendum of the American people, and as the rallies have said, four more years.

#2
As we wake up this morning we can say with certainty that we have elected John F. Kerry to the Presidency of the US. It has been a long and bitter campaign, with nail-biting moments, fluctuating polls, vocal celebs and all sorts of other fun things. We can go forward in confidence with this President. We can now see if his promises of working with the world and economic recovery will come through.

#3
This dawn we wake not knowing who our next President will be. Truly, the race was too close to call, but it has been so for months. No one ever really had any idea who would win, like it was known in 1996. John F. Kerry and George W. Bush now stand toe-to-toe in recounts and the courtrooms of America. As many said the battlegrounds would be close, and they still are, with marginal leads for the current leader. The Presidency for the next four years will be fraught with charges of illegitimacy no matter who wins. We cannot be sure who our next President will be.

Sounds good. I'm betting on the 2nd headline.

Am I the only one who can't help but grin like an idiot when I see someone say "John F. Kerry" on television, rather than the traditional "John Kerry" he's used for the last 25+ years? ;)

Seriously though: I don't expect to see or hear any of those three headlines. #2 sounds like what you'd hear if Kerry won, but #1 is just too glowing to ever come from the mainstream media. No media outlet is going to admit that Bush won any kind of mandate whatsoever, even if he wins by 50-60 EV..

We'll hear about claims of disenfranchisement, legal suits (frivilous or legit) and close results in smaller states, but when Bush wins, you'll never, never, never hear anything like "the people have spoken" or so forth. Not that it'll matter. ;)

hey, while were at it, why don't you cook up your own variations of these, that would be much-nifty.

"In a surprise, come-from-behind victory, Ralph Nader has been elected as America's newest President. In a fit of anger, both Bush and Kerry demanded for a recount. President Elect Nader was shocked and very surprised when he woke up this morning. "I don't believe it... I never expected to win." an Emotional Nader confessed to the press...

well if we're making things up...
