I'd go for the 'girl undressing' option, if not for this problem: it's a womans eye. Unless we are speaking of a bisexual woman off course.

its a pretty good book
interesting premise, breezy style, good plot, lots of characters to follow.
its not war and peace but you wont feel like you lost a chunk of your life reading it.
