Just one question, how can you be a conservative Christian? if you read the bible, especially the gospels, Jesus would really seem to be a VERY liberal thinker. If you are conservative then it seems to me that you are disobeying Jesus when he says to try and live like he does. It just seems like such a contradiction in terms, so please explain yourselves!!

Maybe they call themselves that because they are against abortion, homosexual marriage, and for prayer in public school (among other issues). these are issues that are liberal in todays society. How could a Christian who believes in the bible possibly be a liberal when they (liberals) support said issues.
PS-Do you think Jesus would support abortion?

It's because Christianity doesn't work.
If Christianity doesnt work than the world doesnt work, we are the largest religion in the world, its Islam that doesnt work.
Ummm...Actually, I don't think it's really about which religion works. It's about which one is true.
Christians are called "conservative" because they generally do oppose such things as gay marriage and abortion. However, I do think that it is right to say that Jesus certainly didn't live a mild, boring "conservative" life. He was very radical in his time, because he opposed the popular trends when he did not agree with them. Many Christians today do the same thing, but for some reason, they are considered conservative.
Overall, I think it would be good if Christians came to be known for the things they support, not the things they oppose. Christianity isn't really about rules. It's about life.
