In Defence of my Arguement

British Glory

Right seeing as the tyrannical moderators saw fit to close down my thread (Why I detest America) before I could answer all replies I shall do my best here.

Narrow Minded : I do not think my argument was narrow minded or narrow in general. I gave a broad and wide sweeping argument on mnay different points, using well documented and detailed examples to prove my points. I did indeed generalise but no more than what is usual in every day life. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. I doubt anyone on this forum has never generalised in one aspect of their life. My essential argument is, and still remains, that American culture is built on a tradition of anti British sentiment. Whether all of its citizens are anti British (as many of you were quick to point out, they are not) is not the point of the argument. I do note that I was accused at one point of being "a narrow minded, pathetic, Tory just like the rest" - do correct me but isnt that generalisation.

Moral Arguments One of you accused me of not answering replies which had true point. Not true. I answered all the replies that I believed had a genuine point to them rather than a dead end.

American Achievements Many accused me of not taking into perspective the many good things have done in world. That is true, I did not. Nazi Germany started a World War and murdered 6 millions Jews. They also gave us the rocket technology that allowed us to go into space. The same sort of metaphor can be applied directly to America.

Political Bias Many of you argued that as Democrats you believed it was the fault of the Bush administration that I viewed America in this way. I wonder if I had attacked when a Democrat President was in office, if you would respond in the same way.

Sources/Historical argument Firstly I was accused of some historical inaccuracy. I am willing to accept that: I had little time or space to make trully indepth arguements in relation to the American Revolution. Had I two hours to spare and all of my sources present, then I would have indeed presented a more in depth analysis. Unfortunately I am a busy man (someone has to answer the hate mail). All of my arguments are based on fact and are my own interpretations of the truth. Whether you agree with my interpretations is of course your own matter. All of my historical arguments are based on things I have read and studied: any one desiring a source list only needs to ask.

MY BELIEFS The argument I placed was my own, no one eles. It was my belief, in the same way that a Christian believes in God. I am sorry if it offends people but that is the way things are.

I apologize for some of the more gaping flaws in my argument. To accuse the American people of being a nation of traitors was more rhetoric than truth. However I still stand by my argument.

Though I think many Americans aren't just anti-British. They are simply jingoistic.

You know, I really don't understand your purpose in writing the original rant at all. Was your hatred so great that it had to bubble out or you'd explode from the pressure of withholding it? If so, I honestly feel for you. It must be painful living with such anger. :/ Otherwise, why bother? Real, virulent hatred isn't something to be gloried in and waved around. It's really a very petty thing.

Furthermore, why are you annoying the mods further? Nothing you said here actually... matters.

And the mods are hardly 'tyrannical'. Testy at the most - and in the nicest possible way*

*WHAT? Don't LOOK at me like that! I can't risk getting banned from here, it's my only political outlet!

They moved my "Vote For Our Own Moderators" thread to a different section of these boards. I can understand removing posts that may be harmful for children, buit this place needs to be managed without all of their idiotic bias.

They moved it because it was in the wrong place...

And it's already been pointed out to you that though they have political biases, those don't overly influence their moderating.

Honestly, some people and their persecution complexes... *shakes head*

maybe what you mean is that you dislike the americans on the nations states board

americans love the united kingdom. most of us dream of visiting. we follow your politics and royal family more than any other country that is not our own. we import your tv shows. we listen to your music. we even let our presidents be knighted by the freaking queen!

even if we dislike the war in iraq we appreciate y'all coming in with us. no one wants to make a mistake all by themselves. we have lots of allies in the world but YOU guys supported us when we needed it. thank you!

so you cant take some criticism from kids on an internet forum. doesnt our unflagging love of y'all count for anything?
