What would you do? (This, unlike my previous 'what if' posts, is a serious one)

Weep for the stupidity of Americans in allowing the Clintons to, in effect, get around the Constitution and rule for 12-16 years.

(Hillary sure had a lot to do with policy whilst Bill was president, didn't she? Healthcare was her baby....)

Well that is a bit of a stretch as Madison didn't envision a woman being President. Then again, it doesn't say male.

Besides. There are a few people that will tell you Nancy was the first women President. Some would suggest Elenor.... ;)

Yes, but they were not elected, and after FDR the laws were changed to prevent "president for life" situations.

I will laugh my ass off because I can't think of anyone who would make a better president or piss off the Republicans more.

Even GOP senators admit she has done a good job representing New York.

Throw in allowing America to beat the crap out of Bush for about $5 each, (funds will go to the Iraq War Veterans) then you got yourself a deal.

I've hated Hillary since she bought a home in Westchester and called herself a New Yorker. :upyours: Hillary! The fact that she'd be out of my state seems pretty good actually. But if it means her dreams going unfulfilled I guess I can put up with her for a little while longer.

NYC likes to force their opinions on the rest of the state when it suits them. The fact that the candidate against her at the time (Lazio) was a state legislator made Hillary seem better for the job to some idiots. And some people actually bought it. Enough to give her the senate seat. Oi

Probably, it was awhile ago, I'm just as likely to forget things as anyone else. Granted he ran a bad campaign, but is that a good reason for Hillary becoming a senator in New York? So the invader from Arkansas was justified, because her rival didn't run the best campaign against an opponent with superior resources?

Honestly though if Hill=Bill, and vice versa, how bad could it be? He was really pretty inoffensive, all things considered. Mostly he just didn't get anything done, which I believe is the winning strategy for a president.

Remeber the halcyon days of impeachment when he "had to get back to the peoples business" and the country was running so well.

Also, I don't think that he was any more or less neglectful of terrorism than anyone else would have been at that time.

If we could get Hillary in 2008 on the same inactive terms, I wouldn't mind. As long as she had no bigger plans than her husband's 96 campaign, it wouldn't kill me.

That is of course assuming that Hill does in fact = Bill when she's the one officially in charge, which could most likely be a very different situation *sob*. :(

Pshaw!

The secret of good government in this country is having a congress that hates the president's party. That way they spend every waking hour trying to undermine each other and leave us alone. This is how we get around them not letting us have a third party choice.

I child, raised by a nanny since birth, boarding school, did she not make it to Ivy League? Both extremly sucessul in their career paths yada, yada!

Young-Grasshoppers, why have you not been paying more attention to the news and less about the campaign trail? bill-boy WANTS the UN job next year when K.Annan leaves! Imagine the politics discussed when they meet. Also, if they both attain their sought after positions, Hill is on the hill, and bill is in NYC! So, he's still the first beatch, but he won't cater any parties as he'll again be MORE important! Now, everybody go and vote for ThePresident, we will get these next 4 years done, and then we all can vote for Hillary in 08. And that includes a-lot of my profession that will vote for her!

First of all I have to say I'm Irish so I have automatic reverence to those 2..Well up to 96' I did. I think Hillary would make a fantastic President, should could flirt with British PM's to get her way in warefare oops already done by Bush-did any1 check out the my endless love promo in jib jab? Wouldn't it be a howel if Bill was first lady?..and had to dress in pink and organise tea parties and have to pick China patterns? Could you find a more degrading job for him? Not sure he'd last tho, with all those female interns in the office of the First Lady! Might die in rather suspect circmstances which Hillary would use to be re elected.
As for Health Care-The American health care service is shocking I wouldn't wish it on my un insured enemy. Irish healthcare is bad a the moment with elderly lying on beds in corridors but hey at least they can geta reasonalble standard of health care. Forgein Affairs she is great, economy well I'm sure she could hire a good econimist, War, I think women make better war time leaders. They're not as gun-ho as men and are more willing to give diplomacy a chance. I know some will say diplomacy doesn't always work and sometimes action mus t be taken but the situation in the North of Ireland would be far more explosive with out the limited diplomacy going on their-this is based on a conversation with John Hume and David Trimble.

I'd bang my head against the wall. The Clintons are the most powerhungry couple I have ever met, especially her. She would serve as president only where it suited her interests. If she's real bad, however, I'd move out. I will be in college by then, so perhaps I might be able to study in Europe. It can't be any worse that America under Hillary.

Easy there tiger. I'm from the city and didn't vote for her. But you should be big enough to admit she has gone further faster in the senate than Lazio ever would have and has done more for all NYS than he would have. He was from L.I. after all, not Utica.
