I might want Kerry to win now.

Do not get me wrong, I hate both candidates. In fact, I voted Badnarik with my absentee ballot. However, I think I may want Kerry to win now. Not because I think he is a better candidate and will improve conditions. No, he will have a hard time changing things with a Republican Congress.

Instead, I want Kerry to win the election so everyone can bitch about him and the things he does in office. After four years of Bush hate, I think it is time to turn the tables and do some good old-fashioned anti-Kerry attacking. I already plan on making a parody of the "Not my President" shirt with Kerry on it. It is always easier to be on the attack in politics.

What do you guys think?

Control of the Senate is a tossup.

I hope its a tie in the electoral college, with the popular vote goin to kerry. Then the house appoints bush after a bazillion ballots, and the senate - for some reason - appoints Edwards.

That would be great.

Yeah, but I assume it will stay Republican. The House, on the other hand, is not that questionable.

If Kerry becomes President, he will be attacked rabidly for piffling things like Clinton was. He will still do a better job than Bush though, if for nothing else that Kerry has been used to being attacked for 30 years, while Bush gets his panties in a bundle every time he's criticized.

The Democrats only need one Senate seat (with a Kerry win) to take control.

At least 5 races are tossups.

The House however, will remain in GOP hands, agreed.

I don't know about you, but breaking the law, committing adultery, and being a do-nothing President aren't really things I'd consider 'piffling'.

I don't know about you, but breaking the law
that he did. Perjury was stupid. Although it should never have come to court, but that's another matter.

committing adultery
who gives a fuck?

and being a do-nothing President aren't really things I'd consider 'piffling'.
You'd be hard-pressed to prove Clinton was a do-nothing president.

Clinton was guilty of perjury, and there's no explaining that away or, as some try to do, covering it up by accusing Republicans of being sexually repressed prudes. Nevertheless, I think history will view him as one of the better Presidents we've ever had. He was a remarkable diplomat, worked wonders in Northern Ireland, and probably got closer to bringing about peace between Israel and the Palestinians than any other President.

Even speaking as a libertarian, I wish we had another man like him running this year.

I'd like to see Kerry win but the Republicans keep the Senate... or at least have the Dems take the Senate (which just might could happen) if Bush does win. Things are so much less extreme when there's a balance up there...

Yeah, Clinton was a better President than Bush is and Kerry will be (if he wins). He was more of a moderate than either of the current candidates. As for his foriegn policy, he did some good and he did some bad.
