What is your favorite pie? Mine is apple. (note: this is a public poll).

Hmmmm.

Toss up. My fiance's grandma's home-baked peach pie....

or my pumpkin cheesecake pie....

Piiiiiieeee.... *drools* Toss up between apple, pumpkin, and pecan, although it's harder to find a really good pecan pie. The ones you buy at the grocery store just don't cut it.

Key Lime

Tie between lemon meringue, chocolate, and strawberry rhubarb.

Because you failed (miserably) to list wild red raspberry, or even blackberry, I settled for key lime.

It's got to be real key limes, though. Not those phony grocery store imitations that are spray painted green.

But the paint is the tasty part! It makes you feel good...

Shame a lot of the citrus crop was killed by the hurricanes....

Gotta agree, it's my second favorite, after red raspberry.

I used to pick wild berries for pie, but somehow by the time the crust was baked there were never enough berries left to fill the shell!

I must agree. That was my second choice, after raspberry.

We used to pick these wild berries, but somehow by the time the crust was done baking there were never enough berries left to fill the pieshell!

The trick is keep a short distance between bush and home, bake on the day of picking, and pick three times as many as you need. ;)

You mentioned wild raspberries - I've never come across them, but they sound pretty damn good!

Up here they grow along the powerline right-of-ways, out in the boondocks (where I live).

Just remember to check first for black bears, who also know where to find the good stuff.

Well, then my favorite multi-purpose pie would have to be Chocolate Cream. Tasty, and with a wonderful contrast of colors.

My favorite throwing pie is blueberry. Wonderful staining power. But while tasty, is not my favorite eating pie. My favorite eating pie is Key Lime. I can't bear to throw em.

Is it just me or is apricot pie missing from the list...I want my apricot pie!...chocalate? never tasted one of them...

Boston Cream

Apple by far. The best is French apple cream cheese.

Peach is the all time best. Right up there with it is gooseberry and sweet potato. Oh! and coconut cream with lots of toasted coconut. My wife makes a apple berry with cream pie that is heaven on earth. Gotta go get her in the kitchen. bye!
