Hillary Clinton definitely belongs on the list. You also missed Empress Dowager from the 1800's, early 1900's: the woman who single handedly mucked up Imperial China so bad that it was overthrown by Sun Yatsen, giving rise to modern day Communist China. She also killed numerous concubines, the true Empress, her own son, and various other rivals. Nasty piece of work, that one.

It's why Chinese history doesn't have very many female rulers: they were almost always more evil than the guys, so people were less inclined to let them have power.

im thinking madame mao, too bad i can't remember her name, many of the excesses of the cultural revolution can be blamed on her as well as the desperate hanging on of power of the "gang of 4" in the declining days of mao and after his death.

Maggie Thatcher.

Clearly you know absolutely nothing - Margaret Thatcher was the greatest PM since Churchill, and is easily one of the best of all time. She restored Britain's economic stability when we were in dire straights, and reversed the trend of Britain being forced ever backwards over her colonies and dominions. She fought a just, quick and successful war (more than the current PM can have claimed to do - the first, perhaps but certainly not the quick or successful) and gave countless people the right to buy - something you yourself may well have benefited from in one way or another.
She broke the trend of people leeching off the state (a trend now on the increase again), and stood up the E.U. - a lesson Tony Blair would do well to learn. She also infinitely strengthened the 'special relationship' between Britain and America, and was instrumental in ending the Cold War with a victory for the west, without a single shot being fired. The most Evil Woman of all time? Impossible.

Yes, I know who you mean. The Hungarian countess Elizabeth Bathory (1560-1614) tortured and killed about 2,000 girls and young women before she was arrested on December 29, 1610. She was locked up in a closet of her castle and left there to rot.

Personally I believe it is still far too early to declare who won or lost the Cold War. It had a build up of about 44 years (1917-1961), and was only declared over 14 years ago. These things take time.

We lost the Cold War, of course. :( Look at how many nations fell to the communists:

China
North Korea
Poland
Czechoslovakia
Romania
Bulgaria
Yugoslavia
Albania
East Germany
Hungary
Vietnam
Laos
Cambodia
Rhodesia
South Africa
Angola
Mozambique
Zambia
Congo
Algeria
Ghana
Guinea
Indonesia
Palestine
Cuba
Nicaragua
Chile
Iran
Afghanistan
Ethiopia

Many of these nations have since been freed from communism, but the fact that the U.S. lost all those nations (in spite of our alleged 'anti-communism') definitely proves we lost the Cold War by a landslide.

Whoever disagrees was obviously either rich, got rich off other people's misfortune of Thatcher's policies, or is a die hard blind patriot.

She made the poor, the elderly, and the disabled outcasts of society. She shut down coal mines, f***ed up hospitals and schools and railways through underfunding.

She wanted homeless people sterilised.

None of the women in your list qualify as evil.

Since the nasty Countess Erzebet Bathory has already been named, here are a few other historical women who would qualify:

Empress Zoe of Macedonia - murdered here way to the throne, and kept on murdering once she was there.

Queen Isabella of England - got her lover to lead an invasion against her own husband to put her son on the throne

Catherine de Medici, Queen of France - not only a member of the powerful Medici family, who used poison and intrigue to great effect in Italy, Catherine tried to bring peace between two warring factions - and ended up causing a massacre. Good intentions, bad result.

Grace O'Malley, The Irish Pirate Queen - well the Irish liked her, but the English thought she was pretty bad

Catherine the Great of Russia - not one of the most evil folks in history, but she was an autocrat who ruled her nation with an iron hand. Russia being Russia, that meant a lot of people suffered.

Queens Trung Trac and Trung Nhi of Vietnam - led Vietnam's first revolt against China to become a sovereign nation. Another case of people from one nation considering them to be heros, while people from another nation consider them to be bad. Incidentally, many of the generals (36 of them) of their 80,000 person army were women.

When were these nations ever communist?

The SA apartheid government was anti-communist. I know Nelson Mandela used to be a communist terrorist, but his government was never communist.

Palestine? I thought their government was Israel's government, which is not communist.

Iran? Maybe you're referring to the pre-1953 government. It was left-wing, but not at all communist. And it provided much more freedom and economic security than either the Shah or the Ayatollahs.

Oh, she's the lady who ordered the Hugenot massacre, right? I've heard of her. Definately not a nice person.

I'm also getting the impression that a great deal of the people from Great Britian who post here are members of the Labor party, judging by their comments about Margaret Thatcher. As an American, my view is that she was good for the UK in terms of foreign policy, but again, because I'm an American, I have no idea how she handled domestic issues. Taking away milk from children? Sterilizing homeless people? I hope none of those bills passed through Parliament. *Assumes corny British accent* Utter rubbish if you ask me. *Drops accent*.
