due to the problems with security there is not much that can be done to improve or keep safe healthcare and water quality etc. without having fully armed engineers safeguarding these vital services (such as large water pipes). due to the threat of being caught up in violence- we actually don't really know what is going on in that country.. we only really know the military side of things-

Heard about this earlier this morning on Sky News. Wanted to post it but couldn't find a URL related to it. It's a tragedy.. That's one-tenth of a million. Shame on the West.
Just as the Jewish folk have been clinging to the memory of the holocaust for sixty years now, I sincerely hope the fine people of Iraq cling to this catastrophe for the next few decades, and remind America and the West of it, extorting reparations for the vicious crimes committed by Adolf Bush and his troops..
"Morally superior" folk my arse.. I respect that Zarkawi idiot more than I do the West. At least he does it with his bare hands. Cuh. *spit*

I'm glad that none of the relatives will be joining the insurgency. What? They will? Whoops, didn't plan for that...

Excellent..!
That means only half of the "potential dead" due to Saddam have been killed..!
Excellent..!!
Keep up the good work with the surgery. Get the rest of the cancer.
1st paragraph: LONDON, England -- Public health experts have estimated that around 100,000 Iraqi civilians have died since the United States invaded Iraq in March last year.
3rd paragraph: There has been no official figure for the number of Iraqis killed since the conflict began 18 months ago, but some non-government estimates have ranged from 10,000 to 30,000.
So most non-government (i.e. pretty much all but this one) range from 10,000 to 30,000 whereas this one is the exception. I guess that would mean that under the occupation people are not 2.5 times more likely to die but rather 4 times more likely to live.
Ah, the glory of statistics.

Interesting.
People are outraged by the counts and yet you could hear crickets chirping when people complained about the killing in Rawanda.

I'm mildly surprised there hasn't already been the manadatory snide demand for exact figures from a Bush apologist, along with the madatory dismissal of those figures if they didn't come directly from Ubergruppenfuhrer Bush's own teleprompter.

Exactly.. no one contests that fact.
That's why Bush is a murderer and needs to be tried for warcrimes and crimes against humanity in his spiritual home @ Crawford, Texas.. Hey, that's the way you deal with Nazis.. ;)

The irony: people voting for Bush because he is 'pro-life'.
