Will it ever be like it was?

Do you think we'll ever have another presidential election that goes smoothly, with a clear-cut winner by the end of election day? Personally, I think they will get more long and drawn out, if anything, unless we get an election where one candidate wins by a HUGE margin, which I don't see happening in the near future, with the nation polarized the way it is.

Of course we will. Probbaly not this one, but at some point, there will be a very charismatic candidate who the vast majority of people like against some no-name politician put up by the other party for token resistance, and it'll be a landslide. Of course, in addition to being charismatic, the politician will have to hold fairly centrist views.

No, there is just to big of a gap in between the parties now and it is growing, in the process it is causing hate between the American people. I think before its all over there will have to be something MAJOR to change peoples opinions of each other.
You can thank Gore for running to the courts when the electio didn't go his way. It is sad even for me that Nixon was a bigger man than Gore when faced with the same situation. Gore set the precedent and now we all have to live with the fallout.
