Who brainwashed this kid?

Ok, so my 16 year old cousin sent me this e-mail. She lives across the state, and has never e-mailed me before. I don't know what made her do it, but she seems pretty enraged. The funniest thing is I voted for Nader.

_________________________________________________________________

hey tom, yes i would like to dare sending this to you,

first of all i would hate to think about where the world will be if kerry is voted in for president. he wont even know what he wants to do. i would just love to see him go tell some other country that he has their back and then he will back down. and then the country will even hate the US more. At least bush has the decency to speak his mind and not just say what everyone wants to hear when thats not even what he thinks. And abortion, there is no reason why it should be legal anywhere. killing an unborn child by taking them partly out of the womb, cracking a hole in their skull and sucking their brains out, thats a real good thing to do. it was the mothers choice to have sex and get pregnant and she should have to deal with the consequences of that. there should be no easy way out for people who dont think about what they are doing to others. that baby could have been the next genious, he could have been the one to develop a cure for cancer. you never know. if there is a cure for cancer god would have let us know. The people in the world who get paralyzed or get cancer are probably meant to be that way. if it wasnt suppose to be like that why would the diseases even exist? think about that. Bush has enough morals to know what should be done and Kerry is too ignorant to care about an innocent persons life, he only cares for himself. if kerry is voted into office the world will literally go to hell. it would be a miracle if he kept at least 50 percent of the promises he has made to america. Thank you have a nice day..........

well that is how i feel. and i didnt copy that from anybody else's words.

anyway...how are you doing? school sucks i cant even imagine college. haha -Amy

She groups all abortion with Partial-birth abortion. What logic.
She's correct if a woman gets raped its her own fault (I'm being sarcastic).

But mainly she sounds like a very informed person.

Wow, she had a mood swing at the end of the email there.

And you can probably blame your uncle and aunt for the "brainwashing". Most people end up supporting whoever their parents support.

I applaud you for being brave enough to admit you're related to this person. Hang in there, maybe she'll get married and take his last name. ;)

Yeah, she's a good kid, she just needs her head screwed on straight. Kerry isn't an anti-christ satan worshipper, and Bush isn't the son-of-man Jesus reborn. Poor angry kid, at least she is interested in politics.

It would be a miracle if any politician kept 50% of their promises, but it's never going to happen.

I'm definately going to point out the shift key next time I see her. I don't think she is ready for capslock though, I'll give that time.

To be fair, it was an email. You'd be surprised how much worse some high school kids are.

If that's the case (that they deserve cancer cause God wills it), then we shouldn't feel too upset about aborting the next genius who would one day cure it. In fact we should be ecstatic as we are doing God's work. I mean, obviously if Cancer is one of God's creations, then the person who prevents/cures it is surely working for Satan himself!

Bush has enough morals to know what should be done and Kerry is too ignorant to care about an innocent persons life, he only cares for himself. if kerry is voted into office the world will literally go to hell. it would be a miracle if he kept at least 50 percent of the promises he has made to america.
I don't think anything needs to be said about Bush caring for an innocent life.
As for Kerry only completing 50% of his promises, that would be a major improvement on any politician in recent times (especially the current one).

Sad really. And certainly a bit scary, as at her age, she is just reflecting what the opinions of others around her. So you can imagine what her parents must be saying.

Though I personally am a Bush supporter I hate it when people just spew out senseless dribble. And I'd just like to comment that not all high schoolers are afraid to use proper grammar and punctuation (although the best of us make mistakes...)

As well I'm curious... Is it odd to be an athiest and yet support Bush..?

I've never thought about that....any other athiest Bush supporters out there?
(and no, I'm not, I'm an agnostic Kerry supporter)

And in regards to the article.....that's the reason why people have to be at least 18 to vote. I realize there are some people who are well informed and quite intelligent who are younger than 18, and who would make more informed choices than many who are over 18, but still...there has to be some cutoff point, and I personally think it should probably be closer to 20 or 21. (and I'm only 20 myself)
Of course, I'm probably only kidding myself trying to believe that people actually become more informed as they get older. At least most people out of their teens aren't as mindless as that email though.

Well, I've got a couple friends who are atheist Republicans, but neither of them support Bush. They say that, if they could vote, they'd vote Nader in protest to the crappy selection of candidates. Of course, one of these friends only claims to be a Republican, and makes a whole lot of really liberal comments (particularly dealing with the economy). Personally, I don't see how an atheist would agree with Bush on hardly any domestic/social issues (gay marriage, abortion). Oh well, to each his own. :)

I don't think it is odd to be an atheist and support Bush. Religion should never have a role in who you vote for. It's the issues that matter. As for all of you asking for pictures of her in a bikini....no, not any that I want this forum to be drooling at.

Yes. I've met Libertarian Athiests, but never met any republicans.

I think it is entirely odd to be a Bush-supporting athiest, simply because of his constant appeals to the religious right. Everything is "God bless America," "I prayed on this issue and asked the Almighty for guidance," yadda yadda yadda...
Practically ever other sentence that comes out of his mouth mentions God in some way. I'm a bit put off by that and I'm not even an athiest. I think he would love to see the idea of separation of church and state gone.

Well part of my case is kind of odd maybe. I mean I do want the seperation of church and state and all, but I still want to retain tradition. I don't support removing In God We Trust and what not from our currency, although I do support changing the pledge because they had changed it already to add in the God line.

As for the mentioning of God, I don't mind it too much. I mean his base is Christians and it's a majority religion. Sure he could lighten up on it, but I'm not too put off by it, I just accept that it appeals to a majority of people (And if he wants to commit political suicide through that, then so be it).

As for gay marriage, I oppose calling it marriage, but I am in favor of civil unions, again for the purpose of just preserving tradition.

Anyways, I'm sorry if I kinda de-railed this...

Sounds like I basically share the same sentiments with you...except I support Kerry, not Bush. Except, I don't really care if they change the pledge or not, and I think gays should be able to have the same rights as married couples, and I don't care if they actually call it "marriage" or "civil union." But if they go the civil union route, then I think that's what all marriages should be, at least as far as the government is concerned. And it doesn't bug me a ton with his constant referral to God, only a minor annoyance. Pales in comparison to the other things that annoy me about him. :)
