Oi, I'm a Brit!

I won't hold this post against you though. :)

Anyway, America's Best TV Show is The Simpsons, by a long way!

This is a question?

Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Easily.

You can give other answers, but they'll be wrong.

American TV, eh?

Mmkay ... well I don't watch a lot of TV, but there are some key shows I never miss. I shall list them.

Animated:
South Park
The Simpsons
Family Guy

Not Animated:
The Daily Show
Ellen
Mail Call

Sitcoms (a dead art in the US.):
Frasier
That 70s Show

That's about it. As for the brits, well, only show I really liked of theirs was Monty Python's Flying Circus and, well, Terry Gilliam is an American, so it still has a strong American humor slant.

However! Props to the Young Ones.

Yeah but what funny bits did Gilliam actually do? The vast majority of the laugsh were because of the writing of the other five who are all British!

As a Brit, I have to go with American sitcoms, namely Friends, Frasier (and it's ancestor Cheers).
Oh yes, and Paramount studio's Startrek, although not all of it.

Actually, Gilliam did a lot of the writing - especially in the movies. Gilliam also did the animated bits.

Simpsons and MASH. Family Guy's great and all, but it kinda got cut off before it could earn it's classic tv tenure.

Andy Richter Controls the Universe was a show that died way before it actually should have.

Rescue Me: Denis Leary, the baddest comedian of all time, is back on TV! I loved The Job but that was cancelled before it had a chance.

At the risk of being original, "Whose Line Is It Anyway?". I know that it is based off of a british show with the same name, but its american.

Also, The Simpsons.

I believe the thread is looking for the best current television show out there.

The Simpsons was far and away the greatest show on a few years ago. Unfortunately, they haven't had a good episode since about season nine. Family Guy was definitely a top tier show, but was sadly cancelled after only three seasons.

Shows that are currently on that don't suck? That is a difficult question. Here are a few, but I have a hard time picking a 'best' show, because for the most part the shows out there suck.

Rescue Me
The Daily Show
South Park
Chapelle's Show
Stargate: SG-1
Superpower07

Animated:

You know, I may have agreed with you if I had only watched the first eight seasons. Things were already going downhill from there, and the last good episodes appeared in Season 9.

Now the Simpsons is a shadow of its former self. Most jokes involve Homer's physical "comedy" and cheap guest stars working recycled jokes in an attempt to reclaim the golden age of the show, back in 1993-1995.

Nowadays, the funniest show on TV (in the cartoon category) has got to be Family Guy, and very few people will disagree with me, I imagine.

The only TV shows I can stand (in order of preference):

1. Invader Zim
2. The Simpsons
3. The Daily Show
4. South Park
5. Chappelle's Show

I guess Family Guy should be on there, too. Besides those, TV sucks.

Simpsons had beeen trying awfully hard for a while...some of the celebrity cameos were just horribly shameless excuses to do celebrity cameos. But, it's gotten a little more odd in the last few seasons, and that I do like.
