Taking pictures of a missile silo is illegal.. could be that. I pulled over for a nap one time in northern New Mexico (i think) and saw a sign that said "photographing this facility is a federal offense" or something like that.. so i just took a picture of the sign. ;)

Well, I don't think that it is a missile silo thing, it is more of the entire taking a photograph of this facility is a federal offense thing. Because of area 51 :)

THese pictures are from a satelite owned by the US government so all pictures are legal. Area 51's existance has been declassified along with some of the projects (like the SR-71 Blackbird) but you are still not allowed to see it

You can, if I recall correctly, do this in Mapquest by entering your address, then selecting the satellite view tab to see YOUR OWN HOUSE.

If you live in New York State here is a much better image website than the terraserver crap. My brother wrote alot of the code for it. I don't believe anything is blacked out from the map like those Area 51 pictures. I know some stuff used to be blacked out (for antiterrorism purposes) but they changed it to intentional blurring of the images around sensitive areas. My brother does anti-terrorism work for the state.
