Yeah, I skim-read the article. I was just going for the comedy angle. *cough* failed *cough*
Besides my personal opinion is that they have merely trained very small fleas to manipulate the IC's and respond to voice commands

It is not that new. ANN have existed since the 80's.
It is new because it has never been so small, but there has been several use of it already.
All picture and voice recognition programs are based on ANN, Sony's iRobot as well. Financial analysts and plane bookers use ANNs as well.

Duh, that's part of the definition of a scientist. A man/woman who understood nothing until there was nothing left to understand. You need to watch the Omega Man more often.
