Thanks, Pantylvania. One more week and then I can hopefully get rid of the fatigue.
It's maddening having no clue who is going to win.

And Kerry is only losing ground.
We use the polls when they support our candidate, then we don't use the polls when they don't support our candidate...:p
The electoral college system is flawed dramatically IMO. But let's go beyond that.
The only poll that matters is the one that will be taken 11-2-04. Give me all the tables you want, and it still wouldn't matter until we get the opinion of about 190 million people.

Well, we can still look at the polls and see where this is going. For me the most helpful resource is not the front page of electoral-vote.com, but rather the poll listing: www.electoral-vote.com/pastpolls.html (http://www.electoral-vote.com/pastpolls.html)
As you can see, the polls fluctuate so wildly that in some states its impossible to tell. In other states, it's pretty obvious when there's an outlier. For instance, Colorado, Hawaii, and New Mexico will go the other way Nov. 2 from the front page of electoral-vote.com, I would be willing to bet money. Arkansas is going Bush too. Iowa and Wisconsin are tossups, but lean Kerry. Ohio and Florida are both tossups and nearly impossible to tell who's ahead. One day Kerry's ahead 6% next day Bush is ahead 5%. Who knows?

Man Arkansas is close, and would be nice if Kerry could win it and Florida.

Arkansas really isn't considered to be that close. Ohio on the other hand, if won by Kerry would probably give him the presidency (or Florida).

How close is it down in Arizona, or has John McCain brought over enough support for Bush?

It doesn't have that much to do with McCain. All of Ahnold's campaigning couldn't budge California much. Moreso, there's just a lot of old white people in Arizona, safe Republican this year. As immigration climbs though, we may be seeing a change in voting patterns in the coming years across the southwest. Texas being the obvious big prize, although it will take a hell of a lot of immigration to build up a Democrat force in Texas.
Sometimes I wonder the future of the parties. Most minorities go Democrat. Always been that way. However, the minorities are outpacing whites in population growth. By the year 2050 its predicted white people will cease to be a majority in America. For the Republicans to thrive, they need to dig into the minorities. One way they've been successful at this is religion. Southern blacks, Jewish people, Catholics, all once thought to be solid Democrat, are increasingly finding the anti-gay, anti-abortion, pro-death penalty stance of the GOP to be attractive. It always balances itself out...

It's over here, Arizona is going for Bush. Kerry quit on this state.

It was still cool though to see Kerry at the rally after the third debate (at Arizona State Uni). I'm voting Starky for Senator, even though he doesn't have a chance in hell :p. More of a symbolic thing. I actually really like McCain and wish more Republicans were like him.
