Gun ownership. That's it. I want a candidate that supports the 2nd ammend. as an individual right. (So if Lawrence Tribe was running I would vote for him, making me pretty much a single issue voter.)

There is no one issue that's most important to me.

This must be sarcasm....

For me it is civil rights. (that would include the right to own a gun.

When you own a gun, you can do whatever you want :D

I'd have to say that national intelligence is a big thing to me, we've seen how far awry things can go when it's lacking. And when Bush is gone intelligence will go up considerably.

Actually no. It's my litmus test. That's pretty much all I need to know about a candidate. Unfortunatley both Kerry and Bush fail in this department, so I'm screwed.

1) Civil Rights (yes, including gun ownership and a desire for the national government to be small and stay out of my business as much as possible)
2) Economic policy (once again, moving towards less government involvement / regulation on all levels)
3) Foreign policy - moot point since they both have a fairly similar foreign policy, neither of which is terribly good.

My number one factor would have to be social issues and civil rights.

Right ... so my first and last act as president of you is to tell you to get more than one issue that you're concerned with ;).

Where's that poll?
Make sure MY answer is one of the choices.

Why I paid all of my adult working life for social security, and they keep rasing the age at which I can collect the windfall.

I would like better, more affordable and attainable health insurance, or better yet equal and free health care for all people. I have had to put off seeing a dr for some pretty serious problems for way too long, and now some of them may be beyond cure. This is not right!

Hard to pick one, but it would have to be personal liberty.

That, and quality of life. One should be able to fully enjoy their personal liberty.

Anyhow, a Libertarian/liberal approach to social issues is the most important issue to me.

Among other things, yes. I think too many responsibilities are taken away from people. I think it's one of the reasons we, as a race, are growing weaker with each generation is that passive eugenics is not weeding out the weak. We are growing into a bad habit of thinking for the dumb.

My primary issue is the environment. If we do not maintain a suitible environment, we cannot continue to survive as a species; it's that simple.

Secondary is a toss-up between education and civil/human rights. Education is extremely important to bring about a better world through the next generation, so I suppose it ekes in front by a very small margin. Civil rights, in my opinion, runs the gamut: from gun ownership (though I dislike the things myself) to gay marriage to the ending of the rediculous "war on drugs."

A solid, peaceful, internationalist foreign policy ranks a strong third.

Gun Control. If we're not safe in our own neighborhoods how can we be so obsessed with terrorism?

Next for me would be ridding ourselves of abortion. If we kill our own children what kind of morals do we have? Why is the punishment lower to mothers who kill a newborn as to killing their 2 yr old or 6 yr old? A human is a human, right?
