I never get tired of Music threads so here we go.
I don't care when they were formed just what they've done since 2000.
Here's mine
Bands:
1. Wilco - YHF was a classic, A Ghost is Born would have matched it if not for all the rediculous guitar solos.
2. The White Stripes/Jack White - Jack White has dominated popular music, The White Stripes, Cold Mountain Soundrack, Loretta Lynn's new album.
3. The Shins - Oh, Inverted World and Chutes Too Narrow are personal favorites.
4. Outkast - Lennon/McCartney of Hip Hop, Stankonia and Speakerboxx/Love Below are my picks for top two rap albums ever.
5. Modest Mouse - That these guys made a popular breakthrough was simply amazing.
Albums:
1. Source Tags and Codes - ...Trail of the Dead - Most powerful album I have ever heard.
2. Moon and Antarctica - Modest Mouse - Amazing production, brilliant songwriting and more than capable instrumentation.
3. Sea Change - Beck - This album is timeless, could have been made any time in the last 50 years.
4. Neon Golden - Notwist - If you haven't heard this album, find it.
5. American IV - Johnny Cash - The Man in Black went out in style.
Songs:
1. Hey Ya - Outkast - Maybe the catchiest song ever. Probably the song of the decade.
2. How Near, How Far - ...Trail of the Dead - My favorite song, best song on the best album.
3. We'll Meet Again - Johnny Cash - This song made me cry when I found out he died.
4. Saint Simon - The Shins Would be at home on Revolver or Village Green Society.
5. Go With the Flow - Queens of the Stone Age - Dave Grohl is amazing
