I'm unnable to sleep because I can't remember the name or the author of a sci-fi short story I read a while ago. It's about a man who decides to cut the phone and electricity from his house, and trash the TV, after he finds that all the technology has formed an intelligent network, and is killing anyone who finds out.
I remember there is this girl, a computer wiz, cambodian or vietnamese, with huge breast implants and a "screw question mark" t-shirt that the main character didn't get at the beginning (of course I would remember that). She kills herself by putting her head into the microwave oven, manipulated by the technological conscience.
This story was written before the internet era. I think that the main character's computer was a TRS-80 or something similar. That should give you an idea of how old this short story is.
Does anyone remember this one?
