Republicans don't want the youngsters to vote. What the hell? I thought that was one of America's fundamental problems--too much voter apathy?

Republican dont really want anyone to vote, they are authoritarian aspiring fascists.
Young voters have a tendancy to vote liberal.
And we can't have that :p

Elections in the 20th century have shown that the higher the voter turnout, the worse republicans do.
There's no blame to assess here. It's the simple statistical truth. The higher the voter turnout, the better a chance Kerry has.

Okay, OI's Theory of Democracy
1. The most likely people to vote without being motivated are the extremes on both ends of the spectrum who absolutely wouldn't be able to stand the other candidate.
2. The next most likely voters are interested moderates who never (err, rarely) vote straight down one party, but instead actually find out about the candidates.
3. The least likely people to vote are people who don't realize how much government actually effects their life.
4. There are is a close to equal amount of people in each extreme.
5. Moderates have a tendency to do an approximate 50/50 split for the candidates.
6. People who fit in categories one and two make up a very small portion of the over all population.
7. The more people in category three who vote, the more likely the chosen candidate is going to be an accurate reflection of the general population of the state.
8. The more accurate reflection of the general population's wishes a candidate is, the more fit he or she is too govern.
THEREFORE,
No matter how the vote would turn out, it is essentially that political activists organize as many voters as possible and inspire them to vote, one way or the other. This is the only way Democracy can truly work.

There are some 210 million (?) possible voters in the US. In last elections some 105 million actually used their vote. What you think the turnout will be this time?
