Jimmy Carter For President

or failing that

Jimmy Carter For Secretary Of State

why do i some how doubt the peacefulness and civility of some one declared the only civilized arab in islam by a neocon?

I almost stopped reading right here: it ended in the assassination of the only civilized Arab in Islam, Anwar Sadat
but through a bizzare call to sado-mashochism I carried on.

Was there anything remotely worth reading in that?

He handled it about as well as he handled the economy!

Sounds just like BUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jimmy Carter was an average President although after Nixon and Ford, I'm sure he looked just *dazzling*. Reagan was much better than Carter though.

Yeah. Reagan left a defecit of one and half trillion. Thats fucking incredible. And it got worse after bush. Clinton actually got it into a surplus, but then Dubya came and crashed it again.

I try to ignore the fact that Reagan was murder on the economy and more focus on other aspects of his time as President.

Did you ever think it was strange that the hostages were released on the day of Reagan's inauguration?

Did you ever think it was strange that a few years later the Reagan administration allowed the sale of arms to Iran?

Some people debunk it as a wackjob conspiracy. Others just can't fathom such a string of coincidences.

Coincidently. I was just reading about Reagan. Read too! Ronald Reagan (http://www.rotten.com/library/bio/presidents/ronald-reagan/)

Its long, but good for a laugh.

Try as you may to change the subject, there is no arguing that Carter was a horrible president. The only worthwhile thing he ever did (habitat) came after his presidency.

25-10-2004, 07:02
Im not trying to change the subject. I've yet to see 444 good reasons why he was the worst president.

I dont even care. But if you wanna talk about it, we can. I dont see any reasons why he was a great president. But, judging by bush's performance. He is worse. Possibly the worst ever. Well actually probably not. Some of the presidents in the frontier days were pretty shocking.
Lunatic Goofballs

Here's the goofball's truth:

Jimmy Carter did more for this country and the world as a former President than he ever did as President. I think that makes me a mixture of impressed and depressed. I think he got elected too soon. 1976 wasn't his year. He should be running now.

Or even Rosalyn Carter. I'd vote for her in a heartbeat.

Despite what the feeb whote in that article, Jimmy Carter is a well respected individual, and even republicans are hard pressed to say bad about him now. All they can do is go off on what a wishy-washy president he was. Well, duh. We already know that. :p

while he wasnt a good president over all

the iranians DID infact wait for him to be leaving office before they gave up the hostages
they DID NOT like the carter administration one bit at all and had every reason to do that to him(cost him a possible re-election).
ole jimmy was a fan of human rights, unlike the nation that lies between iraq and pakistan

;)Uh it's been established along time ago that the Repubs backroomed a deal to make sure that's the way it happened. Carter was a man who genuinely cared about our country and it took it's toll on him, his health deteriorated as he worked tirelessly to resolve the iran hostage situation. The Repubs betrayed our country with the Iran-Contra scandal. They used it to make sure among other things that the release of hostages waited until after Ronnie Ray-gun took office. One of the main reasons I could never look at that man as the demigod that the right portrait him as.

Name One.

as for a list of accomplishments.

Start here.

Add in multiple charitable donations, tireless work for Habitat for Humanity,
Aiding multiple foreign governments in having a fair election, negotiating peace between several more nations, and top it off with a Nobel Peace Prize, and what you have left is the last truly good man thats remotely involved with the American Political Scene.

one - In 1979 the incompetent Commander in Chief of the most powerful army in the world is incapable of executing the rescue of his citizens held hostage at a known location (our own embassy!) by a minor foreign enemy while a Texas businessman is capable and takes innitiative and is able to effect the rescue of his employees from same said renegade force without one casualty. That whole nation is still being held hostage by the same renegade force.

Haven't read your link, since it must be something like Goebels propaganda regarding the posters name. Some people in the US can really be seen as the LENINISTS OF THE RIGHT (W and his SS watchdogs are also a good example).

I'll name as many bad things as I can about Carter (please, no flaming):

1)The hostage crisis
2)The economy
3)The Department of Education (the quality of education has gone downhill since its creation)
4)Department of Energy (unconstitutional, a big waste of tax dollars, etc.)
5)SALT II
6)Gutting the hell out of the military and intelligence
7)Attempting to renew diplomatic relations with Vietnam even though they hadn't returned all our POWs (and still haven't)
8)Betraying the Shah of Iran
9)Betraying Ian Smith of Rhodesia
10)Betraying Anastasio Somoza of Nicaragua
11)The attempted 'rescue' of the hostages, which resulted in a fiasco

Need I say more?

Jimmy Cater was the greatest president alive and not a bad peanut farmer. He even has the same innitials as Jesus Christ! That prooves that God loves him! Everyone knows those hostages deserved what they got. High oil prices were needed to encourage alternate fuel development. It also gave a great reason to slow down traffic on our freeways to a much more safe 55 MPH. And dont ya miss those 20% CD rates that almost kept up with inflation?

I you love Jimmy like I love Jimmy then say this out loud three times fast;

"I want to eat Jimmy Carter's peanuts"
