I'm a flip flopper too!!!!

There aren't many days left before the US presidential election and I have an admission to make:

I am a flip flopper. A big one.

I can't stand George Bush. I can't stand John Kerry.

What am I to do?

Vote Nader? He's a fruitcake. Vote Bednarik? The LP is a joke- and not even a good one.

In my opinion, GW Bush is singlehadedly destroying the American conservative coalition.
In my opinion, John Kerry is a cruel fraud. Mediocrity at its worst.

John Kerry represents a party without direction or principle. George Bush is pushing his party towards that- direction without destination based on incoherent principles.

What is a voter to do?

Well you can always not vote. If you already hate bush, you might as well vote for John Kerry, especially if you think he wont make things worse. He might turn out better than you expected, and if he doesn't you can mull the same dilema next election.

You'll probably do what the rest of our kind will do and just not vote. Or we can go to the voting booth and use that blank space they provide to write in "None Of The Above". The majority of America doesn't understand why we do not vote. Our concerns are important and we need to address that every political election should have a Voter Consent Law.

Always write in someone!

A few ideas:
Reagan: Just because I'm dead, doesn't mean I can't whip these towelheads!
Mickey Mouse: Instant name recognition, pro US trade policies.
Howard Dean: A great choice for the audibly challenged!
Drew Carey: (A bald man with an accordian and a sense of humor.) Still a better choice than Bush or Kerry.

Remember kids, vote for the Kennedy of your choice, but VOTE! :)

Initially, I wanted to write in my dog as a candidate. I'm not sure that will sufficiently convey the utter contemp I have for my available options.

DO NOT just write in anyone's name like that, as funny as it might be, it takes away from the seriousness of what you are saying; We do not like our choices, we are not being heard, and there is currently nothing we can actually do. An honest vote must allow us the choice to not choose any of the elected.

Perhaps this is just my Libertarian bias here, but:

Michael Badnarik and the Libertarians are far from a joke. Granted, I think Badnarik wants to privatize a little too much of the government, however I like his party's general direction (plus, it's time we got a good 3rd-party person in).

That your dog is at least 5 years old, so that it's 35 in dog years. :)

I consider myself a "classical liberal", I would love to vote for a serious LP candidate...however, it seems as though a lot of times if you switch Harry Browne, Jacob Hornburger, etc for Kirk, Spock, and Zulu you wouldn't be able to tell the difference by the quality of crowd they draw.

LOL - how true.

Scary thing about the whole 'crowd they draw' thing: I admit I like sci-fi!
But no Star Trek for me - Mobile Suit Gundam is where I'm at

There's absolutely nothing wrong with liking sci-fi and being a bit of a futurist. I think in many cases it marries an analytical mind with creativity. I think many times libertarian arguments go far beyond the common "Is it good for me?" decision-making process common to many voters, with no respect for secondary or unintended consequence.
