Independents are switching to Kerry, Bush backers. The election isn't even going to be close.

Yes, but neither King nor Ventura are really all that respected. Nor are they actually independants. King has always been a closet democrat whose biggest acheivement was forcing the state of maine to overpay for tens of thousands of soon to be obslete apple laptops - for reasons that remain unclear as to this day. And ventura is a bald lunatic walter mitty type figure.

I suspect if Nathan Bedford Forrest endorsed kerry, however, you would spin that out as an event of major significance too.

How come conservatives get their panties in a bundle when Hitler is used for comparison...until they use him?

I notice you pointed out King's liberal leanings but failed to point out Ventura's conservative/libertarian leanings. I also find it significant that a former Navy Seal is backing Kerry after initially being neutral. What former star of Predator is next?

Actually, MN was in the Kerry column and it went to the toss up on both www.realclearpolitics.com and on www.electoral-vote.com

This election will be close because it does not matter who wins the popular vote but the electoral college.

As a longtime resident of the frigid land known as Minnesota, I've met many types of people. I have lost count of the number of pro-Kerry bumper stickers I've seen, but there are more yard signs for Bush/Cheney. I don't fully understand this split. I voted for Ventura, and while he made a good target for pundits to mock, he did a damn fine job.

Bush? He has not. Not even remotely. I work in an office full of people with actual photos of themselves with Mr. Bush, and even they are talking pro-Kerry. It's a pity that the individual vote doesn't really matter.

That was the weirdest endorsement announcement I have ever read.

Mea Culpa. I didn't point out Ventura's leanings because I don't know what they are. Nor, I suspect, does he. Every time I have seen him TV though, he has uniformly presented the image of a crazy man. And he seems to spout a lot of nonsense too. Witness his recent bizarre behavior where he held a press conference with king (as you linked too) yet for some reason refused to speak and had King give his endorsment of kerry for him Why couldn't he just come out and say:" I endorse kerry, I believe he would make a better president then Bush." What's wrong with doing that thousands of others have and no-one think's they 're insane. But no, we have to get the bizarre silence act, making me think he is insane after all.

And I apologize for the hitler reference. I was only trying to point out that even if someone you obviously hated endorsed Kerry, you hatred for bush is so great - as is your right to feel- you would find some good in their endorsment. I did not mean in any way shape or form to imply that at any time you condoned or supported Hitler or the policies of National Socialism. I shall edit it at once.
