Much as I love Ken, on the categories mentioned I can't for a second vote for London.
I work in central London and commute in every day it's not particularly clean, the people aren't particularly friendly. Don't get me wrong I love it here, have lived elsewhere and wouldn't do again. I adore the culture of the city, the multitude of cultures more than I've found elsewhere.

The free museums, the theatres, the cinemas and parks, it's a wonderful place, it's just not that clean and unless you get to know them the people aren't that friendly.

Well, a city doesn't have to be large to have nice people, cleanliness, and clean air, now does it? A smaller town might even be more likely to fulfill the cleanliness criteria.
So I'm going with Kingston, On. You come for the History (home of Sir John A. and the location of the first sittings of parliament), but you stay for the prisons (Five, is it?)..... and the military base/military college....... and the other two schools (Queens and St. Lawrence). Suffice it to say it's big on the institutions. The people are nice enough.. it's clean and pretty, and it's small enough that the air's relatively clean.... except when a cloud of smog floats up from Toronto ;)

Just a thought if this post is so stupid then start one that you think is on a worth while subject.... Not to the Huns - they were stopped in a joint battle by the Roman and germanic tribal troops at the Catalaunian fields in France.
However latter some of those "barbarian" tribes run over Rome (Odoaker killed the last West Roman Emeperor Romulus Augustulus in 476). However the East Roman Empire (Konstantinopel/Istanbul) existed till the year 1453 before the Turks toke that over.

I'd put Saddam Husein as my governor.. half of the total italian troops there as his provincial military, and he can take care of the terroists and their tactics! :p

Basically, half of the italian troops there is his limit to have.. Say i have 1 legion or 10,000 troops, he can only have 5,000, and their only tactic in war would be to swarm on the fron lines...

My curent plan would be to carve a province of the lands we currently patrol in iraq now, send more forces in, create multiple supply routes and put all funding into infinite energy and stop using gasoline or oil in general and just produce it to sell it lol.. if the oil companies have a problem with it, i'll nationalise the energy production and screw them!
Wouldn´t it be more logical instead of this silly Iraq thing (Iraq is controlled by the US and the UK, the other coalition partners don´t have sectors and are numerically not that significant) to invade Lybia and take the coins from there? Well, just a thought. You seem to develop Mussolinian ideas?

It isn't a musolini idea. I have a to be paid something, so if not anything in money, then in land! Or be allowed to create nuclear weapons in exchange for the assistance.... Going into libya might be hard to justify, but i'd hurt them so bad!

That was the opinion in Italy after WW I as well. And Italy didn´t get what it want and went under Mussolini in a different direction.
Italy won´t get a part of Iraq. There is a British, Polish and American sector.
Italy won´t get any sector. But it can apply for reconstruction contracts.

Come on. Gaddafi is an evil dictator. He even supported terrorism (Lockerbie/La Belle (Berlin). He is a supporter of international terrorism and an evil dictator. If he and his son are not leaving the country Lybia should be invaded, shouldn´t it?
Regarding nuclear weapons. Does Italy even use nuclear power? Otherwise it needs to be said. Any country who uses nuclear power is potentially able to get nukes. If Italy would do so it would only create an arms race since others would follow (Turkey, Greece, Germany).

There is nuclear weapons in italy, but not owned by italy. I'd do it in secret. And with gadafi, he dismantled his nuclear weapons program, so it's too late for that.

What do you think is the greatest city in the world based on these criteria.
1. people, are the people nice
2. clenliness
3. air quality

I'm going to go with some city in China or an ex-soviet republic where the air is so filthy that you die before you realize it's bad side.

Although Shangri La is very nice too, they standardized all the curtains there recently and it really looks classy.

What was yourfavorite part of Denver? Did you get a chance to see Littleton, which is like 10 miles south of Denver?I didn't get to Littleton. I visited Denver in 1975 - so it's been awhile. Mostly I liked the cleanliness, open-ness, and friendliness.

I hesitate... barcelona? Rennes? No...
Definately Quebec City.
Why?

1. people, are the people nice :D
Yes people are very friendly here. One of the best party town around (second only to european crazyness) where guys are cool and girls are joyful.

2. clenliness ;)
The town is pretty small in perspective with Amsterdam, London or New York but it is Beautiful. Quite a sight. A european-like jewel set on top of an american (as the continent) hill. And nature's galore.

3. air quality
No smog here. No heavy traffic. Well... There's snow 6 months of the year but the air is VERY fresh believe me!

Quebec City, I say.
(Oh... most people speak french, but also can babble a correct english).

Out of the places I have been to, and I'm not very well traveled, I would have to nominate Portland, Oregon based on the criteria. The people are awesome, the air is clean, everything is green. It's a great city, and also home to Powells book store.

1. Newcastle upon Tyne.

Clean. Near some great beaches (weather permitting). People are friendly once you learn the local accent. Big enought to be cosmospolitan, but not so big to as to suffer a lot of big city problems like traffic congestion and long commutes.

Its also very affordable.

2. Charleston SC.

Just about the nicest city in the US. Great nightlife, great peolple, great food. Fantastic beaches nearby, beautiful part of the world.

And the worst city is probably Tunis. (Although it could be Boston).

Praque...too many tourists (as I wasn't?)
Edinburgh...bad weather
Barcelona...locals are not that friendly (a certain no 1 otherwise)
Roma...Italian guys (too many) are annoying
Cobenhagen...too expensive

Berlin...ist wunderbar!

I haven't been to orlando for about 14 years. The problem with orlando - for a visitor - is that usually you are there only to see the theme parks so you leave without ever really getting an impression of the city itself. Good weather though and the people seemed nice, but pretty much that is the case all over the South East.

I love New York City. Like, lovelove.

It has the highest ratio of nice people to mean people of any place I have ever been to.

As for environmental issues, it actually has the lowest per capita energy and oil consumption in the US, contrary to popular belief, and one of the lowest in any city in any first-world country.

And it is very compact, too, squeezing a population of 8 mil into 19 square miles.
