John Kerry's victory is assured by Nickelodeon's 100% accuracy since 1988

Some key quotes I found amusing...

An unusual opinion poll that has correctly predicted the winner of the last four presidential elections has given Democratic challenger Kerry 57 percent against 43 percent for Bush, according to results released Wednesday.

...

Nickelodeon, a unit of Viacom Inc., has organized its poll every election since 1988, and has a 100 percent record of picking the winner.

"The 'Kids' Vote' seems to work as a good barometer of the actual presidential vote because, developmentally, kids between the ages of two and 11 share the same opinions and outlooks as their parents," said Cyma Zarghami, president of Nickelodeon Television.
I feel better, knowing that I'm sinking low for reassurance for America's future. And that the political opinion of a two year old are almost equal to their parents. :o

Which goes along with my theory that children CAN sense dumb people.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated (and rather ahemy) poll done by that oh-so-wonderful program called "channel one" (American's know what I'm talking about) has Bush winning re-election by a 15% (55%-40%) margin, and a 393-145 electoral college victory.

Agreed. Vermont doesn't stand a chance of going GOP, and neither does Illinois and Delaware.

Wow, they got what, 4 whole elections right? well, better put their word above all else!

(I am for kerry, but putting too much faith into this is dumb).

This seems logical, and I just can't stand the thought of Kerry losing, however much I hate nick.

However, this does not assure me of the political awareness of two-year-olds everywhere. I mean, ask them how cool Barack Obama is (yes, I have tried this) and you will get a confused "huh?"

How many of the major news networks have that degree of accuracy in their polls hmm?

Look at it this way, every day more and more people are tuning in to The Daily Show for their evening news. The average american doesnt give a crap about what cnn or abc or cbs says. The average american ( I know this having worked in telesurveying) also doesnt give much of a crap about actually answering surveys, or giving accurate answers to surveys either.

Ya, I posted this before Colodia.

And also in a recent poll concerning TV shows and candidacy, 100% of people who watch a steady diet of Jon Stewart, Yankee (and other sports) games, and Gundam SEED prefer Michael Badnarik of the Libertarians*.

*One person was polled in this - I wonder who it was?

Considering Anderson Cooper from CNN got his start on CH1 and that Asian on the View got her start on CH1, you might want to re-think your statement.

Both of those anchors I would not call conservative at all.

Which is what im saying. When people tune in to a fake news show to get the evening news, and a KIDS channel has a better record at predicting elections than any of the five major news networks .....something is afoot.

Probably any news network that had Bush winning before the election, which was a lot of them - 1996, 1992, and 1988 weren't really close elections.

Still, young kids do parrot their parents views.

I live in NYC and have NEVER heard of Channel1. I see a web site but no TV or radio reference. What is the story - aside from "they suck"? Is it an educational tool (in adition to being just a regular "tool"?)
