After we won our football game today, we cheered "Yankees suck!". There have been approx. 5 fistfights in the dorm over it, me involved in all of them.

Go Sox, beat the Yanks, then lose to the NL team! (Terry Francoa sucks!)
ELo is pitching for the Yanks ensuring a BoSox win. I'm a White Sox fan so trust me, Loaiza sucks balls. That's why we traded his ass to NY for Jose Contreras.
Yankees defense is disintegrating
Sox can't seem to make a mistake, just had the ball ricochet off a Sox cleat into right field, I predict 10-1 after this inning! (5th)
Esteban pitching = 15-1 at the end of the inning.

I would say it makes more sense for it to be the winner of Astros vrs Red Sox and heres why...
The only contest the DNC even has a semblance of a chance in is the executive branch. The RNC has a majority of governor seats, state legislature seats, congressional seats. It would take an apocalypse to reorganize the government to that scale. The red sox had a chance of changing the tables maybe not a good chance but still a better chance then the DNC to do all those things. With Bush winning in nearly every poll I doubt they will even win the executive branch....

NO! And it should not ... it shall not ... it had better not!
Baseball brings people together! When you're in the stands, rooting for your team, side by side with fellow fans, you do not care if they are republican, democrat, christian, muslim, pagan, liberal, conservative, or whatever.
Baseball shall never be sullied by political nonsense. It is pure and perfect!
Astros != Bush ... Rangers, maybe, but not Astros!
The Astros were here long before a Bush ever set foot on our blessed soil.
Yes, I can see the fun referrence about Texas vs. Massachussetts (sp), but never forget: George W. Bush was born in Connecticut!

lol! funny.
You know ... the Astros played their first major league game as the Houston Colt .45s on April 10, 1962 (wish we would have kept that name) against the Cubs ... we won 11-2.
Astro-turf is named for the Astros ... we invented it.
We claimed our first NL title in 1980 (Yes, I was at that game).
We've had amazing players like Nolan Ryan, Art Howe (I went to junior high with his kids), and Ken Caminiti (RIP).

The curse of 1918 was not broken in 1986 when they lost the WORLD SERIES to what city????
The curse is not broken by winning the ALCS. They will have to win against the Astros or the Cards for that to happen.
One possible ill omen is that no matter what, the winning teams colors will be red. It could well mean that Texans, transplanted or not, may have a winning year. Let's see in 5 innings.
