Sounds like God is saying different things to different people. I wonder what motivated Robertson to come out with this? It can only be bad for the President.

I'm not willing to give Bush much credit for anything, but I doubt he really told the Christian Coalition that there'd be no casualities-and if the CC believed it that would make two collosal idiots. I didn't read the whole article, if that's obvious. Now to go back and find out why I reacted too fast...

Alright, read the whole thing. Robertson still endorses Bush and thinks god, blahblahblah. The manner in which he quoted Mark Twain made it sound like we was quoting Twain talking about Bush...interesting. I do remember Bush bein' all "this is going to be a long deal" and such-what he got wrong where all the parades that where supposed to happen after Saddam was removed. Interesting, though.

Unfortunately it is believable. Bush believes he was hand-picked by God, and it's just possible that he believes that God told him to attack Iraq, and that God told him that we would suffer no casualties. Of course if this is true then it's disappointing (although not at all surprising) that Robertson would still support him, as this would mean that Bush has been listening to a deceiving spirit, or is totally insane, or both.

If you elect George Bush as President, people like Mark Twain will get up out of their grave and walk again.

I think you inadvertantly hit on something there: they are both colossal idiots...could that be an explanation? Or, of course, one of them could have been drunk/stoned at the time.

That would make a fantastic political commercial...I can see it now.
"I'm John Kerry, and I approve this message."

"Mark Twain died in 1910. He died peacefully, at peace with the world. But, thanks to George Bush's destructive policies, people like Mr. Twain just can't rest so easy anymore. Bush's ideas make Twain roll over in his grave, and four more years might just make him come out. Vote Kerry, because if Bush is elected, people like Mark Twain will get up out of their graves and walk again."

"(This message was paid for by John Kerry for President)"

"Oh yeah, and Benjamin Franklin is pretty pissed too."
