I'm looking at my Ballot ...

Yep, that's right kids, it is time for me to vote. I received my early voting ballot - State of Texas, Cass County, 7s - in the mail today and I am gonna walk you through the process ...

Section 1 ... Straight Party ... nah ... skip!

Section 2: President and Vice President.

On my ballot, I have the following ... Bush/Cheney, Kerry/Edwards, Badnarik/Campagna. Guess who I'm goin' with .... K/E all the way, baby. Yeah, I may not be in a swing state and I may be throwing my vote away, but if enough people in the State of Texas are as fed up as I am with Republican tyrrany, we could swing this state blue once again.

Section 3: United States Representative, District 4

I've always voted for Max Sandlin, but thanks to Tom Delay's brutal and dishonest redistricting of Texas (which, by the way, is well on its way to being reversed), I am now in SD4 instead of SD1 and here are my choices: Ralph Hall (incumbent Republican), Jim Nickerson (democrat and maker of fine barbecue), and Kevin Anderson (compassionless libertarian).

I've met Ralph Hall and Jim Nickerson. Ralph was a 140 year old asshole who wouldn't shake my hand because I have facial hair. Jim Nickerson served me a beer with his own hand at a party in his hotel following the Texas Democratic Convention. Jim gets my vote.

Section 4: Railroad Commissioner

Here's what I got: Victor Carrillo (rep), Bob Scarborough (dem), Anthony Garcia (lib). For RRC I always go with the Libertarian. So, there it is.

Section 5: Justice, Supreme Court, Place 3

Harriet O'Neal (rep), who had threesomes with Bush/Perry all through the 90s, is running unopposed. I will not fill in the oval.

Section 6: Justice, Supreme Court, Place 5

Paul Green (rep), who basically sucks Rick Perry's and Tom Delay's dicks over redistricting, is running unopposed and will not get my vote.

Section 7: Justice, Supreme Court, Place 9

Scott Brister (rep) and David Van Os (dem) are on the ballot. I know David and he is a good man. He is a liberal and a progressive and we need someone like him on our State Supreme Court. He definately has my vote.

Section 8: Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 2

Lawrence Meyers (rep) and Quanah Parker (lib) are on the ballot. Since only sailors and faggots are called "Lawrence" (plus, Judge Meyers believes that someone who gets caught with a single joint of marijuana should be held in the same regard as a multiple murdering rapist), I am going with the Libertarian.

Section 9: Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 5

I have Cheryl Johnson (rep) and Tom Oxford (lib). I don't know much about either candidate, and when in doubt, always vote against the Republican. Tom gets my vote.

Section 10: Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 6

Let's see ... Michael Keasler (rep) and J.R. Molina (dem). I've met them both and they're both nice men. Keasler would be called "liberal" by Tom Delay, but then, so is Billy Graham by Delay's standards. In a toss up, I will, however, always vote against the Republican. J.R. gets my vote.

Section 11: Member, State Board of Education, District 8

An unopposed Republican. Republicans have destroyed the education system in Texas. This woman will not get my vote.

Section 12: State Representative, District 1

Two people ... H.E. Snow(rep) and Stephen Frost (dem). No contest here. Frost is my boy! I've watched him during his campaign, attended many of his functions and events, partied with him after the Convention, enjoy his company, and believe him to be a great future Presidential candidate (to which I wouldn't complain about a Cabinet position ;) ). Frost gets my vote.

Section 13: Chief Justice, 6th Court of Appeals District

Bah ... another unopposed Republican. SKIP!

Section 14: District Judge, 5th Judicial District

Yet another unopposed Republican!

Section 15: Sheriff

Hey look! An unopposed Democrat! Pencils ready ... and go!

Section 16: County Tax Assessor-Collector

Becky Watson (dem) runs unopposed again. I first met this woman when I was 12 ... she was 100 years old then! Wow. She gets my vote just for staying power!

And finally ...

Section 17: Constable, Precinct No. 2

Alton Smoak III (rep) and Jimmy Murphy (dem). Alton Smoak III?! You mean there were two other Alton Smoaks *before*? Yowza. Anyway, I like Jim Murphy, he's a nice man and does his job well. He gets my vote.

And that's it .... ballot filled in ... sealed in envelope, addressed, everything in order ... and it's off to the post office bright and early tomorrow morning.

When I turn 18 in 2 1/2 yrs I'm just voting Libertarian every chance I get to show people that we aren't as bound by the 2-party system as everybody thinks.
