Even though my party has not yet outlined our platform, I will still respond to this.

Yes, we must embrace freedom and should not risk letting it diminish to nothing. But that is not what any of the other major candidates are proposing. You are acting as if the moderators are saying you cannot say anything. That is indeed incorrect. They are very liberal when it comes to what you can say. Want proof? Fuck. See. Fuck. I can say it. Are they going to warn me because I said such a thing? No. The moderators are there to keep a sense of calm in the forums. They are there to protect the common NationStates poster from flames, spam, and other vile posting habits. They are there to keep this place fun for the average person and not serve to small group of individuals out to ruin a good humored thread with a random flame or consistant spam.

The fact is, we do need a set of rules against such things to protect the people of NationStates from a small group of people that care only for themselves. NationStaters also need freedom to say what they want. We need to protect the NationStaters Civil Rights by keeping spammers and flamers out. Complete lack of rules would not due this and lead to an unpleasant environment. I know I personally would not want some 15 year old saying "Blah" 20 times in a row on as many threads as he can. But under Legless's policy, that would be permitted.

The average person in NationStates would not be affected at all by rules. It is only those who are out to create pleasure for themselves at the cost of others that would be affected.

I'm the candidate for the half-minded party. If elected president I intend to do something, I just haven't decided what. But I'm sure it will involve Doritos.

The other candidates promise to make this an anarchist paradise, or a never ending witch-hunt, but try as they might they can't deny they have plans, ambiyions and that's not what this forum needs.

What we need is the kind of undecisive action that I bring. The possibility of doing this or that, whatever that may be. Or this.

My campaign is about making the people on this forum better.

And it's a forum for Christ's Sake! Everything is to be taken lightly. I do. It works/worked for me. Even when I got insulted on other forums. Just think of a cunning reply or ignore them. Why do you need rules? These things regulate theirselves. People will recognise the ones trying to "spoil their fun" and act accordingly.

And to Legless. Even so, not everyone has your tolerance level. I personally am annoyed by people who do nothing but flame and think their arguements are valid. They are annoying, because they consistantly flame. Those people should be warned and there be a set of firm rules (not extremely strict, more relaxed than strict) that would control things that like that deter people from coming to the forums. It makes the forums a lot more enjoyable of a place, rather than having to sift through spam and flames or simply ignoring it.

No I do not. I am saying that not everyone is like you. I am saying that you are a special case, when I believe that most people are annoyed by spammers. They slow down the forums, annoy anyone who is trying to talk to someone in a civil way, and they never go away because they can continually filter in in the form of a new person.

Flamers are the same way. They bring a childish nature to the forums that is not needed nor wanted. No matter what you say to them, they only make you angrier. So should we ignore them? No. We should show them that they are not wanted with some rules against such vile acts against the enjoyment of my fellow NationStaters. We should not simply say "Ignore them."

Stephistan is a masterdebater *snicker snicker* but she's canadian... although many good things have come from Canada like Fizixman(the batman of physics), Jim Carrey, and stuff.

Torching Witches: And you can't burn a witch you have to throw them in water: if they float they are a witch and if they don't surface after so many minutes (the Puritan method I heard but I'm unsure how many minutes) then they are clean. And they are free to surface and then you apologize. Unless the person is good at holdingbreathe or using a willow weed to breathe it might kill non-witches though.
But I'm just correcting you, I'm against burning witches in general.

Marxist dictatorships have been anti-religion in the past, however this is the Democratic Libertarian Communist party!

I don't consider myself an atheist, though I don't follow any particular religion. I believe it is a personal matter and that no-one should limit freedom of religion.

However, I also believe that religion should not force the hand of society. If restrictions are written in the main text of the religion (Eg. the infamous eating shellfish is a sin) then it should be the believers choice on whether or not to follow these or how to interpret them. Mixing the church with government is a bad idea for this very reason, as laws that apply to anyone can be created with a religious agenda in mind. Make sense?

Sorry I've been away busy doing moderator work, the type of things that are tangible on Nationstates, which is what this election is really all about, Nationstates.

In case people have not heard, yes, I am running for President of Nationstates. Myrth and I have joined forces and Myrth is my running mate for Vice President. You only need to ask yourself these questions. Out of all the people in this list of candidates who do you really believe can come through on their promises? The answer is obvious, Myrth and I. Do you really believe a vote for some one offering you free money will ever send it? Do you really believe some one offering you free weed will ever send it? Do you really believe any one saying they can change the rules who isn't even part of the moderation staff can deliver? Of course you don't.

I think it's an insult to all the intelligent NS players to even make such promises, these other candidates must take you for fools! I do not. If you come to me with a problem on Nationstates I can actually do some thing about it. So can Myrth. We are also backed up by the whole moderation staff.

You can live in la la land and listen to these empty promises that offer no hope of ever being realized or you can vote for the people who have the ear of [violet] and Salusa and Reppy..etc.. You can elect a lame duck president, or you can elect Myrth and I who have a record to run on. We get results. We are strong on Nationstates and respected by the vast majority of the Nationstates community.

So I say to you, is there even really any other choice?

My name is Spoffin, and I am running for NS president for the Progressive Traditionalist party.

As a party, we are often accused of being indecisive. Is that I fair criticism? I don't know, maybe, maybe not. I don't really think its for me to decide. I think I'm no the side of the people who would say that really, its a states issue. Although, the federal government does have the power to intervene. But then, really, should we be poking our noses into what people think in the forum? Maybe it'd help if we had a constitutional amendment to say exactly what we want. But then again, my deputy president disagrees with me. I guess thats cos he's a Radical Pragmatist socially, but a Progressive Traditionalist on the economy.
