In line with the approaching presidential elections, I have decided to run this little contest to determine the new General Forum NS President!

Nominate yourself or others, and select the type of candidate you are!

Types of candidate:

1. Democrat
2. Conservative/republican
3. Evil regieme for world domination
4. Independent Candidate
5. Communist
6. Facist
7. Satanist
8. Anarchist
9. Other (Please specify.)

Nominations and nominees will be added to the list. those who are nominated by others will be telegrammed, and informed of their nomination. it is up to them wether they take it or not.

You must include what you intend to do for the General forum, and why you are running for president. If you are nominating somone, you must explain why you are nominating them.

Voting will be done fairly and efficiently using a poll system. there will also be a few debates for candidates to speak out.

The winner will become president of the General forum, Earning respect, admiration and a date with Sarah Michelle Gellar*(Men) or Jude Law*(Women)!

Elections will happen in the next few weeks, after all the candidates have campaigned. May the best Man/Woman win!

Being an older NationStates person, I would like to nominate myself. Though I will most likely not win due to the infiltration of people that I do not know in any way. Even the older people might not remember me. I was here a lot about a year ago, but that is beside the point.

I am a democrat, but am open to republicans. I do not turn people away due to their political affiliations. Heck, I even caught myself agreeing with someone who I honestly thought was Sean Hannity (he was not, I just thought he did and later found out he was not, after I agreed). That is bipartisan enough for me. Anyways, I do not expect to be elected due to my lack of frequency on the boards these days, but I would like to try to make an effort of some sort.

Thank you, and please vote for me. I plan to push for less ignorance and yell at people who say things like "I hate *insert party affiliation here*." and other general statements that are moronic and ignorant.

I have been an Anarchist in my past, but I matured out of it. There is no way people would work together willingly to form a Utopia like you talk about.

Why do I say this? Because I am willing to admit that even though I am a liberal and think the idea of Utopia is cool, I would still be someone that would stab someone in the back to gain some more power. The thing is, we are all animals, so the vast majority of humans (especially intelligent ones) would do this.

My physics teacher from my Junior and Senior year in High School (I am in college now) played a game with all of his classes. If everyone worked together on the game, then they got the most points. If they did not, then there would always be a loser who got massive negative points. You choose X or Y and if everyone chose Y, then everyone got the max amount of points. If one group chose X and the rest Y, then that one group got 900 and the rest got negative 100. My teacher specifically said that the more intelligent his class, the more competitive it was. I do take this as a strong case against Anarchism. Well, I also take having eyes a good case against it to (I am trying to be funny and serious with that statement).

What you and the rest of the mods are doing is assuming everyone is NOT that better person. You assume everyone is a spammer, a flamer or whatever. We are not like that.
