Who else has the fatigue?

Incertonia

The political fatigue, I mean. And I'm not talking about the "I'm tired of everyone bitching about this" fatigue. I'm talking about the "I swear if this shit doesn't end soon I'm gonna beat the ever living shit out of my dog because I'm so damn frustrated with the stupidity of the undecided voter" fatigue. I'm talking about the "who in his right fucking mind could still be undecided at this stage in the game" fatigue.

And I haven't really started my prep for local races yet. The national and state-wide Senate race is easy for me. Kerry and Boxer will win in California without any real competition. But I've got what feels like a dozen statewide initiatives to read through and 15 citywide initiatives and local races for Supervisor, School Board and Community College Board to wade through.

And goddamn do I have the fatigue.

I know I do.

Which is why I've seriously just decided to give up trying to talk to people about politics. I live in California. Three Bush supporters arn't going to make a difference.

...especially since they have yet to register -_-

Honestly, it's gotten to the point where people say "Hey Kyle, I dunno...I feel like I should get more involved with politics" and I just glare at them and say "You don't want that. You really don't want that. It would be a mistake."

I'm just sick of all the hot topic bullshit. Topics like whether one of the debaters cheated, if Kerry didn't deserve his medals, if Bush did coke at Camp David. These topics are hardly relevant to an informed voter, yet those are points that the media and the people who discuss politics freely and gleefully shove down your throat.

I feel just fine. Voting in California's not exactly nerve-fraying, since we know how it'll all turn out, and since I don't really care about indian casinos. Other that that, being pretty confident that my choice for President's a shoo-in, I feel pretty fresh. Or maybe I just have too much time to kill. ;)

i'm simply exhausted by the continued effort of reminding myself why i am voting for Kerry. every time he gives me a reason to vote for him (like his killer performance in that second debate) he turns right around and gives me a reason why i don't EVER want him in office (like that comment about how "we are all God's children" in the third debate). i am doing my damndest to keep my eye on the prize, and getting Bush out of office is one hell of a prize, but when the cost is that i will have to face John Kerry in office for four years...well, the muscle control required to keep my lunch down is totally draining.

every freaking week there are visits from the top of the presidential campaigns. the candidates, the vps, the WIVES. im starting to think like those guys from new hampshire "well i havent met him in person yet so i cant decide"

I feel you. My brother-in-law is in New Mexico as well--up around Questa--but he's only being inundated with the Democratic party stuff. He was one of the Taos local organizers for Dean, after all.

But these two weeks can't come fast enough to suit me.

That makes two of us, Incertonia, buddy.

I'm so tired of arguing my position against Bush supporters - being a Kerry supporter - and being treated with disrespect and ignorance from their side. It's like talking to a brick wall with some of my friends, because they just don't want to hear it and attack me for my opinions. It's like this political election has seriously apathied people into ignorance.

I think there's a connection between the two, actually. If you're informed in the slightest about the two candidates, then you know there's a clear choice between the two people. I find it hard to believe that you can have any level of knowledge of the two candidates and not be able to make a choice between the two.

Come November 3, I am planning on closing out my time in these threads. The main reason that I got involved in the first place came about due to Bush's desire to invade Iraq come hell or high water.

I have learned an awful lot more about my neighbours to the south and while I can readily identify with many of them as good neighbours, I can see so much division in what was a much better country before Bush. I see so much hate, anger and greed that quite frankly is shocking.

On September 11, 2001 the world was in shock, including myself. Since then Bush has squandered the goodwill that came out of that tragic day.

I watched the debates and I do believe that Kerry can help restore dignity to the White House and rebuild the bridges to the global community that have been severely damaged by the current administration.

I am fatigued aboout every part of this election. The feeling of beating my head against a brick wall from trying to have an intelligent debate without anybody resorting to personal attacks is starting to become painful. :headbang:

I'm pretty pooped, too. It's like being the worlds longest tug-of-war. I don't want to hear about another poll, I don't want to argue back and forth on minutia anymore. I don't want to hold my breath for 16 more days.

A friend of mine characterized the undecided as attention-whores. They want to appear special and enlightened-they are, after-all, still weighing the two candidates with a balanced eye. But that is getting to be closer and closer to horseshit. At this point, if you can't find one or the other, vote for a third party and quit waffling and trying to get on TV focus group segments.

Well, yeah. I'm tired.

I got my Cali book the other day. I've only flipped through it so far. I have suspicions(sp) about one of them, I think it's 64, about the lawsuits. I've started concidering bills that have a lot of advertising for them disproportionate to those against it (in this case none). I'm probably going to trudge through the text itself (though it will probably pass from the inundation of 'common sense' advertising.)
