The full proposal is:

1. Political parties to be outlawed

2. National nominating ballot requires voters to fill in the name of anyone meeting the Constitutional requirements for the office

3. In the event no one name recieves more than 50% of all votes, a national runoff is held between the two names receiving the most votes in the national nominating election.

I don't think they should be outlawed, just that there be more than two main parties. Comon Ralph Nader wants to play too!

2. Honesty in the white house.

3. Empire backed by the fact that we can buy nations and enforce our will and/or culture on them.


4. If number three doesn't work, then we bomb them back to the stone age or earlier.

Hmmm... Great idea. The parties are just easily splintered coalitions of people who are generally different from each other. Fundraising might be a problem though. But since there would be no political parties, no one could fund all of the candidates to make them take their views no matter what platform they originally took. Also, you would cut down on the negative political advertising as there be too many candidates to just single out one for an attack. Well...until right before the election when only 2-5 candidates would be effectively well ahead of the others.

There are hundreds of parties, ranging from state to national level. They just don't have the support and money that the Dems and Reps do.

different political system. They have a nation wide proportional based election, we have a state and district based system.

And go study a parliamentary system sometime. next to nothing gets done unless someone has a supermajority of support.
