Regardless of where you live, taking a road trip can be a great way to spend a week, or a few weeks, or whatever. What's your favorite road trip ( or the one you'd love to take ), and why?

Mine would be my lifelong dream of shipping a Harley Davidson Motorcycle to Portugal and riding it accross Europe and Asia to the East China Sea. God! Can you IMAGINE!! :D

i would love to take a summer trip
driving from vancouver to halifax
since ive been living in new mexico, ive been just too far from canada to vist and i really miss it. (i always lived in a state that bordered canada before this and took many summer vacations there)

Sounds good to me! I've only been to Canada a few times and never got to visit the Western provinces. ( putting that on my list of "Road Trips I'd Love To Take!" )

ive only been as far west as winnipeg
but i really would like to see the canadian rockies. thats why it has to be a summer trip, im too scared of snow now to go near mountains like that if there is any chance of snow.

Probably wise on your part. Surrounded by our technology it's easy to think we're safe against natural forces. Not so, especially above the tree-line. Even experienced mountain climbers can be lost during the sudden changes in weather at high altitudes.

There use to be a contract railroad which offered high-dollar train trips across Canada, among other long-haul trips. I sure wish I could have taken one, but I much prefer to travel at my own pace so I can stop everytime I see something which intrigues me. Just more fun that way, I think. :)

oh yes. I will do it eventually. but first...my other dreams :D I'm planning my february vacation right now, but i don't really know where to go yet. I got 3-4 weeks. and not a lot of money. any ideas? (I currently live in europe)

i went to norway this summer, it was amazing!
is it warm enough arount the mediterranean in february? would be interesting though. by car (not through italy, though :D) or interrail. hmmm...

yes i believe it IS warm enough, especially compared to being in switzerland. dont the british go to southern spain that time of year to warm up a bit?

yeah. i could do italy/greece on interrail. oooh... i gotta start planning.... yaaay!!

I would grab a transit van, fit it with couple beds in the back, grab some buddies and go through the EuroTunnel to mainland Europe. Then just drive wherever the road takes us (hey look, a sign for a pub! hey look, a sign for a bar! hey look...i don't know how to pronounce that place, but i bet they have a pub!) before coming home.
