Strange Poll, even stranger choices. Don't mind if I nitpick do you? Too bad.
Since when did my BMW M3 become a "LUXURY* car?? It ain't! It's a sports sedan!
I, like the democratic hopeful, drive a big assed gas consuming Cadillac SUV, it's called and ESCALADE.

I don't own a car now. The last one I owned was a 1967 Plymouth Barracuda that I had worked on for several years ... had a super paint job, the engine ( a slant six! ) purred like a kitten. But my parachuting accident rendered it very difficult for me to operate a four-speed. Sigh.
There's no way I can afford a decent car just now, but I'm hoping I can buy one next year. Ideally, I would love to buy a Hummer ( not the S-2, that sucks! ), but realistically I will probably buy a used crew-cab truck. Have to wait and see, I guess. :)

Oh no--it's been a great experience being without a car in a city with a good public transportation system. I'm actually a little sad that I'll be moving in a year and will have to own a car again. I've liked being without one.

And I've come to the conclusion that it's impossible to take a bad picture in Utah. I wouldn't live there on a bet, but it is perhaps the most stunningly beautiful place I've ever been.

Why'd ya' leave out Chrysler? My PT Cruiser may not be the most powerful engine wise, but its looks are top notch.
And FORD (i.e. F-ed Over, Rebuilt Dodge, Found On the Road Dead) who'd buy one of those? :p

It is beautiful. Did you by any chance make it through the Smoky Mountains in NC/TN, or to Arizona and the Grand Canyon? Both of those are breathtaking as well, IMHO.
BTW ... I agree about camping. I use to be an avid backpacker until that $(*&@$%()@*& parachuting accident. :(

That's a place to see if you ever get the chance.
And I spent one summer camping and hiking the four corners area--Mesa Verde, Capulin Volcano, Arches and the Grand Canyon. The Canyon has to be seen to be believed--pictures cannot capture its grandeur. And yet, I was still more taken with Arches in Utah, perhaps because I had to work harder to see the most spectacular vistas. You can't drive out to Delicate Arch--you have to bust your ass to hike it, and that somehow makes it that much more awe-inspiring I think.

Scion is a Toyota pretending to be cool....
That's unneccisarily mean, Toyota found that they couldn't sell to the youth market and made Scions to sell to said youth markets. So you could have checked Toyota. I guess you could say that under that logic you could combine all DiamlerChrysler products....anyway.....
I drive a '67 VW Bus Westfalia. Now, you'd imagine I'd do all that traveling that Incertonia and Eutrusca are talking about. Yeah, no. I count it as a good day when she gets me to the store and back...
Wouldn't trade her for the world, though.

If this is the truly awful European Corsa - the Vauxhall/Opel thing then you can keep it. I had about eight of 'em as company cars and they were universally dreadful.

mammoth cave is just that, a great big hole in the ground! it was the most disppointing famous place ive been too (well okthats not true, the most disappointing was yellowstone). if you want to go to a CAVE you need to go east a bit and see shenadoah or luray caverns in western virginia. or make the real trip and go see carlsbad caverns, in newmexico. way worth the trip.
utah is so spectacular that its one great big traffic hazard. you cant help but take your eyes off the road and gawk at the things you see around you, especially at sunset. zion national park is my favorite. arches was great, bryce is great. its ALL great except the salt lake valley that has been trashed by human development.
i expected to be disappointed by the grand canyon, after all, how great can a huge hole in the ground BE? it is utterly amazing. i had READ that its not worth going to in the summertime because there are just too damned many people, but thats really not true either. i went last summer with my sisters and had no problem seeing everything that needs to be seen.
oh yeah, my car is a saturn vue. i bought it at the end of august to replace my '94 saturn sl-1. those damned saturn salemen sell through JUDO or something. you go in, tell them what you want and THEY SELL IT TO YOU, damn them.

Not really sure where Mammoth Cave is, but I'm reasonably sure it's not in the Smokies. If you ever get the chance, drive the Blue Ridge Parkway from Northeast to Southwest. When it gets to the Nanatahala Forest, camp and hike. I guarntee you'll love it! :)
Haven't been to The Arches yet, but since I fell in love with Arizona, I'll be back! :)

Yeah, the brand choices could have been a bit better. But he almost got them.
Chevy/Pontiac Should have been GM, which would also cover Opel, Holden, etc. Ford works, because that also covers mazda, jaguar, aston martin, land rover, etc. Dodge and Mercedes should have gone under Daimler Chrysler. Volkswagen was sorely missing, I think they are like #4 worldwide aren't they? (this would also bring in Audi, Lamborghini, and I few others I beleve)
Other than that, some options for other "wherever you are from" models might have worked. One for japan, one for europe, etc.
Oh, and I drive a Ford. It is running great and gets me everywhere, I drive alot. I highly recommend a blue oval for any undecided car buyers ;) (you can even get them in europe and australia! Wow!)

They're cramped, the ergonomics are dire, the engines are harsh, they're underpowered[1] and they break. Oh, and they look like a sperm.
[1] Joining the M1 going South at J9 the fastest a 1.2 Corsa will do up that steep sliproad with two normal sized adults in it is about 50mph - which isn't a lot of fun when the rest of the traffic's doing 70 - 80.
