My prediction for the election!

It will start just as any other election. The news station will use exit polling to determine who won the state.
Kerry will win, but Bush will pull some stupid stunt like he did last year with Florida. But this time, the democrats won't pussy out like Gore did. There will be a lot of yelling and fighting all over the country. Someone important will get shot.
The country will suddenly break into anarchy and once peacefull cities will become war zone's between the Liberals and the Conservitives with a lot of innocents dieing.
Both bush and Kerry will call to the world to help eliminate the other.
What does this all lead to?
A Massive civil war in the world's strongest country and eventually World War III.
I don't think Kerry's gonna make it. :(

I do. There are a bunch more democrats registering to vote in swing states then republicans. In reality if everyone voted, republican's would never get into office... it's just trying to get the democrats out to vote.

I don't either, He's too liberal for this country at this point in time, even if Bush is too conservative.
Such generalizations are not very helpful. Polls speak louder than words (keeping in mind which ones are biased which way, etc).
I have spent hours researching this shit. And the election really is a tossup. I bet $10 on Kerry, cause I think he has the advantage electorally, but we'll see.

But it will be unbalanced, because not as many liberals own guns. Yep, my basement's gonna be the place to be come November.

I'll be as charitable to Kerry as possible: Bush 291, Kerry 247.
:)
I'll be as charitable to Kerry as possible: Bush 291, Kerry 247.
By my predictions, the candidates have:
Bush 222 solid votes, Kerry 247 solid votes.
I'm guessing we're lining up on most the states. By that, you give all 5 battlegrounds (Ohio, Florida, Iowa, Nevada, and Wisconsin) to Bush.
Being as charitable to Kerry as possible: Bush 222, Kerry 316.

Someone, please explain to me how a man that looks like a monkey and has an I.Q. less than that of a tomato ((they have an I.Q. of 6, due to scientific studies)), can get elected President of the United States?

Kerry would have to pull off a miracle. That is, he HAS to win every state Al Gore won, PLUS steal a few states that Bush carried in 2000. Right now, that doesn't look plausible, but weirder things have happened, AND the Dims are already showing the cards they will play on Nov 2nd (fake claims of racial disenfranchisement, bogus claims of intimidation, lawsuits, etc.) Of course, since it's McAuliffe running the show, as usual, he has shown his cards too early.

Kerry's doing better than Gore in several states. Plus, he doesn't need every state Gore won, he just needs a few more votes than Gore took. And he only needs one more sizable state than Gore to win. It is very plausible, if you actually research all the polls and not just pay attention to the blogs or whatever single poll they run with on CNN or FOX. And the Republicans have just as many dirty tricks. :p
When 5 states are close enough to be called tossups, I wouldn't say Kerry taking any of them would be considered a "miracle".

There are less states being considered "toss ups" than there were in 2000, and the Bush "base" states (that sea of red surrounding islands of blue in the 2000 electoral map) is mostly secure. The same can not necessarily be said of some of those blue islands.
But, as always, the only poll that matters is coming up. I truly believe Hugh Hewitt has it right with the title of his latest book, "If it isn't close, they (Dems) can't steal it."

My thoughts: Bush wins. Either the security moms pull it out for Bush, or people are just dumber than I think. Have you read some of the stuff people are writing? "Now is not the time for nuance" or "Kerry would be a better President, but I'm voting for Bush because he seems more human" and so forth. Such drivel.
And if Bush can't win naturally, then the GOP vote-rigging machine will have snared it for him. Voter suppression, vote fraud, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and so on and so forth... Not to mention that Diebold and Election Systems are both owned by huge donors to BC '04.
So, Bush wins, legitimately or not. What we need is to get rid of the stupid electoral college. Why should my vote count less just because I live in California? We'd oust that bastard in a nanosecond if we didn't have that outdated monstrosity.

No, no, no. Didn't you hear? Kerry's people just told the Washington Post they're up 5 in Ohio and Florida, according to their polls. Kerry's unstoppable. ;) So forget the polls that actually publish their results - it's all over. :D

The Dems are gearing up to cry fraud even if there isn't any ... so we have that going for us ....

And of course, Nader is up by 50 pts in every state, according to HIS polls. ;)
"Seas of red" aside, I'm just analyzing the polls, you're welcome to at www.electoral-vote.com/pastpolls.html (http://www.electoral-vote.com/pastpolls.html)
Ohio and Florida, representing a combined total of 47 electoral votes, are both Bush 2000 states that Kerry has a good shot at this time around. Iowa and Wisconsin both lean Kerry (Gore took those). Nevada also just barely leans Bush. If Kerry just takes a couple of these states he wins.
It may look like there's a lot more red than blue (cause there is!), but that's just the nature of politics. The Democrats' power is concentrated in the cities. The Republicans' power is through just having lots of rural areas. Surprisingly, it all kinda adds up fairly equally.
Hmm, well whether the election goes one way or the other, I'm curious if anyone's willing to make a prediction on the percentage of the eligible population that will actually vote. I'm skeptical, so I'm gonna say..... 30. That is, unless the Michael Moore briefs for votes campaign really takes off.
Should be around 54% or so, in line with past years.

Yup. Registration's up, but most of it's in already decided states. I'd say the states that matter will be up about 2.5% on average.

Cartogram (http://www.electoral-vote.com/carto/oct15c.html)
It shows each state the size it would be if that correlated to number of electoral votes. The country seems more evenly divided now.
The only way Kerry will win is if the Democrats sneak in more votes from prisoners, like they did last time in Florida.
The only way Kerry will win is if the Democrats sneak in more votes from prisoners, like they did last time in Florida.
The only way Bush will win is if the Republicans sneak in more late votes from soldiers, like they did last time in Florida.
Not helpful, eh?
Try to be objective for once.
Oh, and just so you know, many citizens lost their right to vote because of mistakes in the justice system, for instance having the same name as a convict, and people who had overturned their convictions still losing their right to vote, etc.
